Long story short, I let my cousin borrow my ello for an afternoon. He dropped it on the pavement and it snapped at the threads. I didn't like the ello, and was planning on replacing it anyways. I am using the eleaf pico 25, LG HG2 battery, and I normally vape around 48 watts. I still have 8 HW2 coils, but if I am spending $30-50, I'd rather find one I prefer. The ello leaked like a son of a gun.

Welcome to ECF and you'd have several options that would fit. Apart from the leaking, how did you like the vape. The Melo III (IMO) is kind of one of those weird crossover vapes although it sounds like you were using it in a more sub0hm manner, if that is your preference a Crown tank might deliver something you'd enjoy. The original Crown has the most diversity in coils I think, so if you can obtain one, I might.

Don't have too much more to offer, I'm primarily a MTL vaper. Good luck in your search, just mainly wanted to say welcome and etc. :)

Another :thumb: for the original Crown. My in depth review is here: Tanks & RDA's Ratings & Explanations

Edit: Hold on! I now remember a member @DancingHeretik saying that although its a 22mm tank, the Crown won't fit on a Pico25 because the Crown's air control ring protrudes about an extra mm and touches the top "thingy" of the Pico25.

Thank you for the replies ^. I was checking out the crown 3, and the super tank mini.

I have nothing really to compare it to, the pico is my first. Apart from leaking, the ello functioned well and was simple to use and clean. I have no experience with MTL. I was looking at the nautilus 2 and the zenith to try MTL. A sub ohm I was looking at is the aspire cleito exo tank. It looks like a simple setup. The only thing I'm not sure of is the size. The pico says it can take up to 25mm, and the cleito is 23.5mm. But the above post says a 22mm crown would not fit because of the battery cover.

I owned a cleto (briefly I am a MTL vaper) and while I hated sub0hm I have nothing but good things to say about it, it's reliable, it doesn't leak, it's a pretty cloudy setup and the coils tend to last a decent period. My son owned it before me and he'd routinenly put 240 mls through a single coil (although it was clear, and citruses, so not coil killers.)

As to the pico, well, you may want something with more battery power for a "dedicated" sub0hm tank. I guess it would depend on where your wattage tops out and what battery you are using. I probably wouldn't go over 50 watts with the pico (I will say I owned one and briefly, I found I wasn't really getting battery life I enjoyed, even at lower wattages than that, but I do hear people talking about using that wattage with the pico. You may or may not need to carry a spare battery if it's an all day thing.

The only other thing I'd suggest (I am kind of hazy on what tanks, exactly will fit on there) but worst case you could get a heat sink to attach to your mod which should raise the tank up enough so that you can place a larger atomizer on the mod. You can get them from FT but if you are in a hurry, I bought a 4 pack from there and would be happy to send you one, if you'd like. Just PM me if you're interested. There is no way I will be using all 4 of them, but they can be useful things to have in a pinch, for stuff like this.

While I love my Ello's and Melo's, I found that I don't want to put up with leaky tanks again. I had switched to OBS Engine Nano's and got away from that problem. However, the Nano's aren't being made now.

I've got several TFV8 X Baby Beasts coming in, top airflow, top fill, replaceable coils or it's own RBA, as well as bulb style replacement glass to allow 6 mil of eliquid verses 4. These will go on my own Pico 25's and even my Pico 21700.

The Pico 25 takes up to 25mm tanks. A 22mm tank, even if it's 23mm, won't be a problem.

OK, the Pico 25 is not the Pico 75. Pico's are strangely named- no consistency, the 75 is for 75 watts with a 22mm top, the Pico 25 is for 25mm tops and goes up to 85 watts, the Pico Squeeze is a 22mm top Squonker unregulated but safed, and the Pico 21700 is a 25mm top 21700 battery that goes up to 100 watts.
Ugh! why do I own so many different Pico's!! Not complaining.. the women folk here at my casa have the 75's as they like the 22mm Melo 2's, 3's and Ello XL's while I have only one Melo 4 on an Evic VTwo Mini (which is getting replaced by a Pico 25 and a Zeus soon) and the rest are covered by Pico 25's (3) and a Pico 21700, all with OBS Engine Nano's. And then we have the Pico Squeeze, 2 of them, with Wasp Nano's on them. :)

And I thought I had a herd of'em.

Five 75's, two Squeezes and one Dual. No 25's or Mega. Yet.

I like the Wasp on the Squeeze (I call it the Squasp). But I like the Pulse 22 a little better and the only reason is that the Pulse doesn't whistle at me.

After looking at the Pulse, I admit I'm going to have to try one, soonish.

Ello 25 leaked on me also. So disliked
Ended up with with the New Ello TS tanks and LOVE them.
Have used for about 3 weeks now and no leaks no troubles unless you end up with them laying in their side. Takes my loved HW2 Coils.
Found an awesome deal online with 12%....never mind sold out.

Thank you for this. I decided to follow my gut and I picked up an MTL. I went to a local vape shop and looked at the clieto exo. I noticed a tank that I saw on the Canadian vape shop online, the zenith MTL. Spur of the moment I decided to buy the zenith.

Honestly, I love it. It feels so much more natural to me then my ello. I can inhale without coughing out a lung, and my 12mg liquid satisfies the craving almost instantly. It's almost too much, I might have to drop down to my 6mg. I never noticed before, but when I smoke cigarettes, I draw into my mouth and then inhale.

I have a couple questions for you. Recommend watts for the coil I am using is 13-14. The one thing I noticed, at the beginning of my draw I can hear it gurgle and I think I'm getting juice in my mouth. Is that normal? And secondly, do I heat it up and then draw with my mouth? Or draw as soon as I push the button. Thank you!

Sounds like your coil might be flooded. (Alternately you could have some juice or condensation in your driptip.)

The solution for the first event is to gently blow through your mouthpiece and then "catch" what is flooded in the coils with a napkin or something (juice should come out the airholes, since it's bottom airflow) and that should clear it up (until the next refill, often it's during filling that you'll get flooding).

If it's the driptip (less likely I think) just remove it and give it a wash and then gently clean and dry it using a napkin and you should be good to go.

Normally, I would say it's not necessary to go ahead and have to press the fire button before inhaling, but every vaper is different. I know some high wattage vapers press the fire button before inhaling to allow the huge chunks of metal they have in their awesomely huge tanks. LOL.

So, you can do how you wish, but I'd say the majority of vapers have absolutely no issues with just pushing the button AS they inhale. Etc.
