Why are all the connectors for Modder CRAP! I am willing to pay a reasonable price but it sucks to have a beautifully crafted mod and the connector is a steaming turd on top.

I am with you on that ! that's why I am using the 510 to ego converters now seems the are better quality. as in my thread ' my first dna 20 mod..leather covered." in battery mods.will show how I did that.

You're preaching to the choir on that one! I test about a dozen of these in various styles and vendors. the quality control on these were so bad they were anywhere from no connection to the carto or a DIRECT SHORT!! My conclusion was to scrap them and go to a surplus ego battery top.They are on the SLOW import shipment so I haven't used them yet. Another ECF'er posted this link to another alternative 510-510 Extension
I haven't tried these but the look promising.

15 bucks apiece I think he quoted and you have to buy a quantity.. A+ quality 510's are never inexpensive unfortunately.....

I'm doing the ego adapter mod myself they are really decent and shorter than most connectors..

Is it possible to use one of the adjustable pin top caps from mech mods for a box mod?

I'm tempted to get a GP paps top cap. A bit expensive but quality. Got to figure out how to solder it.

In a mech mod, the center pin would be pushed up by the battery. If without it being pushed up by battery in a box mod, would my atty make contact with the pin?

Alright, found a youtube video of the M16 clone top cap. Its spring loaded. So it should work. Only thing is its so chunky, its going to add some mm to my box mod. So now, its either M16 clone cap or original gp paps cap. Either that or I use some low profile none adjusting top cap.

I've got one of the brass M16s from Fasttech; I don't recall that connector having a spring. I'll check it as soon as I can, but I think it's just a floating pin.
