I have a nautilus and love vaping on it. The problem is I work in construction and from time to time it drops out of my pocket onto the concrete and it's causing the top to shift on the base. So I would like to get a recommendation for a more sturdy replacement that will hopefully give a comparable vaping experience.

Have you considered the stainless steel tank replacement?

I don't know exactly what you mean by the top to shift on the base, but how about getting a vape holster to add to your belt/tool belt. That way you can prevent the drops from even happening. Not sure what battery you are using, but something like this might work.

Mod Vape Pen Ego Black Expandable Case Belt Holster Holder 7" x 1 3 4" New | eBay

^Ahhh shucks, got beaten to it. I didn't consider the stainless steel portion because you never mentioned your glass/plastic cracking and breaking. You just said it was shifting the base part.

Also, if you don't necessarily want to carry it on your belt, couldn't you clip it to the 5th pocket (inner right pocket) of your work jeans?

I have the hollowed out stainless steel tank, had the foresight for that issue. I would say the base is a two piece it tilts right at the air adjustment band, just under it. I am using the istick 30W. I have been debating on getting a lanyard though. I have typically been keeping it in my hoodie pocket because of the convenience. Although one particular one has holes due to burning it up lol.

I will say as far as durability goes the hollowed out tank has protected the inner glass. It hasn't taken any massive falls, but I am happy with it so far. I did some searching and found a leather case with a lanyard for the istick, i think I will go ahead and order one. Maybe being under my shirt will keep some of the grinder dust out of it too. Although I have found tester tips to help with that issue significantly! I appreciate everyone's input on the matter.

I hate recommending mechanicals to non "advanced" vapers, but maybe if you want to study battery safety you can get a mech mod with a kick (wattage regulator max 11w i think) you would have a more durable setup. Throw a flash light holder on your belt and you've got your self a nice little durable mod provided you get the metal tank section for your nautilus.... That being said, a holster of some kind will likely keep you from dropping your gear as often. Also the mvp has a good reputation for taking a beating, so maybe pick up the 20w.
Again, a mech mod has no safety so it is up to you to learn battery safety and how to safely operate and store the device. It's an idea, but not a horrible one if you don't do your research!

I dropped it again yesterday and where the knurled section is at the very bottom separated from the rest of the tank completely. Luckily I jammed it back in and it still works fine. Going to see what other options my local vape shop has today in the cheap tanks till I can get a case. I saw a review on the innokin clk sport on indoorsmokers yesterday and was thinking something like that with a nautilus mini and stainless tank might be a good way to go, and I could fashion a stainless case out of some food grade stainless pipe that we have at work with some sort of fittings that are threaded to screw together. But then I wonder if that wouldn't be too long in my pocket. I am constantly engineering parts in my head, what could be a better way... Lol. It's maddening actually. I doubt I would ever work again if I got a 3D printer.

But back on track, the only place I have seen that sells the replacement bases is evapes and they were out of stock. Does anybody know another place? You know, if I can get my hands on a few I may just try welding the pieces together and setting the airflow permanently on one base. That should solve the coming apart problem..
