so i have made two flashlight mods today one works great but looks ugly lol the other looks great but i cant get the on/off switch on the bottom to work and for some odd reason the battery has a hard time making a connection (i can deal with it i just have to mess with it). but how does one go about fixing the on/off switch?

drill a hole through the body & solder the negative wire to the body............do not hook the negative to the spring (or else it'll make a constant feed, thus making it so that the pv won't turn on/off with the flashlight button).

I hope this helps :)
i actually did drill a hole but it wont ground out at all :( but i have both my mods floating and only one wont shut completely off with the bottom button. ill start drilling though lol

Pictures would help... Do your batteries have their shrink wrap on them. I had one where the shrink wrap was partially off so it would make contact with the flashlight tube bypassing the switch at the bottom. Took me quit a while to figure out what was going on.

Reading your posts I am actually a little confused with what the problem is. Is it always on or intermittently on?

I'm not an expert, but my first impression is a faulty main switch. My experience with these kinds of flashlights is that if the switching mechanism is in the cap it is press fitted and a pain to disassemble. It possible that the mechanism has a faulty spring that is used for retracting the contact on the negative side, I am not sure how you would "repair" it as it would likely be cheaper to purchase another flashlight, of the same make, and interchange the switching caps.

well the fire switch works just fine push it it fires let go it stops its the main switch on the bottom of the light that isnt cutting off basically the same switch that would be used on a box mod (on/off switch on box mod = on/off switch on flashlight). heres what i did.....solder postive wire to middle of connector>solder on side of connector for neg wire>solder middle connector wire to switch on one side then other to positve battery spring>outside connector wire free floating to touch neg end of battery.. i think that is what i did in order..

Do you have an multi meter? That would help isolate the failure point. It sounds like the bottom switch is shorting or the battery body is making contact with the flashlight shell. The first non technical thing I would try would be to place thin cardboard inside the body so the battery has no way to touch it if there is room to try this or swap batteries to see if the symptoms follow. Also when you swap the bottom switch does the symptom follow the switch. These two things will tell you where the problem is and weather or not it is fixable.

Also what type of flashlight is it? I have been assuming one of the 9LED ones with the 3 aaa battery holder...

Never want to leave a mod half working if it can be avoided... =]

if you look at the pic you liked in my other post its the blue flash light that is not wanting to cooperate with the main switch the black one is fine. tomorrow i will try and add cardboard to the inside and see if that helps ill report back then :)

p.s they are the 9LED aluminum lights from madvapes

Edit: actually your right i forgot i had to take that holder out so yes its exactly what you think it is
