Sorry for the alarming title to my first posting but I'm having a little bit of a hard time with this new (to me) discovery.

A friend of mine recently passed away from lung cancer RIP......

As a result I immediately stopped smoking the following morning....he asked me before he passed...and I agreed.

I'm a 40 year old father of two and witnessing this rocked my world to say the least.

Now, I find myself on day 4 of not smoking a single cigarette and I'm starting to have a really hard time considering I've been a 1 pack a day smoker for the better part of 20 years!

I stumbled upon e-cigarettes this morning and feel like it's worth a shot but the amount of information and research required is overwhelming for someone who needs a quick solution.....basically...I don't have the time to look into all the options and fully research this....I just need something quickly...then I'll take the time to do my homework.

What is the simplest e-cigarette solution to get me started right away....I'm hoping I can get an answer and place an order by tonight so I can have the e-cigarette at my door within a few days....not sure how I'll do in waiting for it to come in but I'd like to stay away from going back to a real cigarette altogether.

To make matters worst..I'm in Canada...and most companies won't ship here...and since I'm new on this forum...I can't post in the Canada specific section!

Any help would be appreciated:)

I got my first from 7-11 (local convenience store) for $20, the njoy starter kit. Mixed reviews on it, but it got me started and even among two really good eCigs I've invested in, I like it very much and continue to use it. It comes with 2 cartomizers, but I'd recommend buying a 5-pack as well to buy some time while waiting for any e-liquid or higher end ecigs you may get. (you'll want to refill these carts yourself, to avoid having to buy a new 5 pack for $20 every time you run out).

I just picked up a Go-Go from cigeasy.com and like it very much. It uses a new type of cartomizers that are very durable and easy to refill. They also sell smaller models if size is a factor for you, although I promise that battery life will quickly become your main concern. Their marlboro (or USA mix) flavor tastes like the smell of a freshly opened pack. I'd say the go-go would be the quickest, most hassle free way into e-cigs. A day ago I would have said a joye 510 or eGo, but I think the cigeasy products may be the way to go for recent converts from analogs looking to start quickly.

There are (above) some good suggestions. Go to the sticky threads on this new member forum and watch the videos by MistressNomad. They are good and they show both the Vapor4Live e-cig (KR808) and the Joye 510. They're both good pvs. Also, she has one about the eGo which is a Joye 510 with a bigger (physically and longer lasting) battery. Good luck. Vaping is awesome and you CAN quit with these. I've been off cigs for over 8 months just by vaping. You will not regret it....I promise.

Get 5 posts/replies - welcome some people - anything but spam, wait an hour and you'll be able to post in the Canada forum

I think fastest for you would be something from Canada - check Happy Vaper - that's a Canadian vendor I have purchased from

You can't buy nicotine eliquid in Canada but they have 0 nic liquid and 510 and I think Ego. A 2-piece like KR808D-1 (aka Vapor4life) would be easier but I don't think they sell that.

510/Ego are 3-pieces (battery+atomizer+cart) but can be used as a two piece if you get some cartomizers (battery+cartomizer and the cartomizer for 510 will probably be blanks you need to prefill well - get easy soft-cap stuffing-type cartos to start, not reservoir type that need a syringe)

510 - 2-3 hours battery life, less if vaped heavily
510 w/ mega xl batteries - 3-5 hour battery life, less if vaped heavily
Ego (or Riva 510 - i.e. fat battery 510's) - 6-8+ hour battery life plus the ability to use hotter harder-hitting LR (low resistance) atomizers or cartomizers

Buy ejuices too. And you need at least 2 batteries and 2 attys (better to have 3) and MANUAL batteries are recommended and used by most people. Safer from getting killed by a juice leak, won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration.

Here - call Happy Vaper

You can do it! Really - just sucking on an ecig and breathing vapor is relaxing.

If you go to the bottom of the forum and look under "forum suppliers" it'll give you a long list of e-cig suppliers along with e-juice suppliers. If you looking for a good cheap kit to start with try a kr808d-1for around $35 or an ego for around $55 at litecigusa.com, the guy who runs the business is named Shawn, he has really good customer service and there are some good prices on litecig.

My local BP has the disposal kind on the counter, and I live in the sticks.
Dont judge all E cigs to this kind. Not sure how much or the taste.
It will get you through till a rechargeable unit can be ordered. The sooner you chose a better type the more you'll save.
My suggestion, keep reading here and stay away for the mall sold e cigs.
Hold in there day 4 is tough to guilt cold turkey. it's only up from here.......

I also got started on the Njoy that I got from 7-11. It takes a minute to charge it up so in the meantime it might hel to pick up all the flavors of altoids they have, the ginger flavor for some reason helped me until I got mine charged but it might have been I was just so excited about getting it.
I was eating like four or five at a time, the licorice helps too. (but it burns a little)
Once I got that part out of the way I started ordering from vapor4life as well, they have a starter kit with a passthrough that I plugged right into my computer.
After that it was just a matter of getting the right flavor carts, I was a newport smoker, and maybe because of the altoids I'm now really liking the wow peppermint and the wow kant menthol
I'm a little more than three weeks into this and I've found that analogs no longer give me the feeling that they used to and I get really excited about which samples I'm gonna get with my order, they sent about five different each time I ordered.

Hey nwills!

Got a few recommendations for ya bud.

Happy Vaper - Canada Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid, DIY Concentrated Flavorings!
This is where I recommend getting hardware for us in the GTA, Jack is a great guy and if you have any problems he will help you out a lot. The other places I mention sell kits as well if you're interested but HappyVaper is where I started and has been great. If you can drive to meet somewhere he will even do in-person deliveries in the GTA. Just give him a call.

I'd recommend an eGo kit personally.

Then you need somewhere to order some juice with nicotine as HappyVaper doesn't sell that.

These are all Canadian and have been great service for me.

Based out of Ontario, super fast shipping!

My Condolences on your friend's passing. Death of someone close and being 4 days cold-turkey must be difficult in a way most of us can't imagine. Hang in there.

You are fortunate to have found this forum, lots of helpful and supportive people filled with encyclopedic knowledge about vaping. Looking over the post so far, I don't think their is much I can add. I started on KR808, for it's ease of use and reasonable entry cost, I got the starter kit, a passthrough, and cartomizers from puresmoker. It served me well until I upgrade to an Icon Mod. Not sure how shipping into Canada works, but it looks like the members of this board already have you pointed in the right direction. GL.

canada sells nic juice, just not happy vaper. many shops can get you fixed up. finding a flavour you like is the hardest part. my bud that got me into these has a 510 and the charging drives him crazy. I got the bigger brother and it lasts much longer.

buy what you can get parts for. read in the canadian forum, pick a supplier and get yourself hooked up. I was a pack and a half a day smoker too. why I went with the larger unit. I probably vape more than the average user too as I carry 2 complete units in my pokets at all times lol
