Hello everyone!
I'm putting together a video series on YouTube going over the finer details of vaping for beginners. I've been vaping for around 2 months now and I researched for several months before I even purchased my first set-up. That being said, I found it extremely difficult to break in to the vaping world and really find comprehensive videos detailing real facts about e-cigs such as what they are, how they work, and what e-liquid is made of. This forum was super helpful in giving me all of that info I desire, but I still found that most vapers use a lot of lingo that is incomprehensible to us total n00bs. ;D So, I've decided to create a series of four videos that take a super comprehensive look at e-cigarettes and vape culture.

These are the videos in order:

1. What is an ecig? Is it safe? What's in E-liquid? Lingo/culture.
2. Anatomy of a vaporizer. How does it work? How do I do the vaping (ie: how to fill, flooding, charging, inhaling)?
3. Equipment recommendations. Set-ups for each category (ie: Disposable, cig-alike, basic Ego, Variable Voltage/Adjustable airflow, high end)
4. E-liquid recommendations for newbie-n00bs. The good, the okay, and the meh.

What I need from you beautiful people:
Advice! Is there something that I must put in my 1st video?
Does the order of the videos make sense logically?
Is there a goodish disposable out there for people who want that specifically (preferably something you don't have to order)?
Advice for smokers who wish to quit! This is extra important! I've never smoked (although I really wanted to), I went straight to the vapelife.
Where can we get some extra cheap e-liquid? I'm talking cheaper than Mt. Baker, for those honeys with no moneys.
IS THERE ANYTHING MISSING? Am I going to cause someone to horribly fail at vaping due to missing info? (I'm not going into rebuildables, we'll save that for another series)

Also, if you are a n00b yourself, your input is extra valuable! Because, everything is fresh and new in your brain! You remember extra clearly all the mistakes and wins you've made.

Thanks for all the future help, babes!

This is a brilliant idea. If it was not for this forum and google I wouldn't know anything about... anything. This is needed. As for advice, I'm not sure what to say. I think you've covered a wide range. Good luck! I can't wait to see it.
Thank you! I agree completely, this forum came up for almost every google search I did and it was immensely helpful.

Hi NotDonner,

Welcome! I'm a 2-week-old newbie myself, though I've already graduated to RDA's, LOL!

Your plan sounds very good, although the one thing to watch out for in equipment recommendations is that things change and become obsolete so fast. I'd say on these I'd emphasize the theory behind what makes a piece of gear qualify as "good" rather than specific makes/models.

It also might be difficult to objectively review e-juices, since taste is so subjective. If you do review specific juices, one thing I always see missing (and trips me up) is context for the reviewer's preference. That is, instead of saying "I like Brand X," say "I like Brand X, because it's less sweet than brand Y. I vape it with a 50/50 mix, 12mg, using an Evod attached to an MVP run at 3.7v. I also like Brand Y and Z, for comparison."

Thanks for the advice! I figure I'll talk about what makes a good set-up and then give one current recommendation with an emphasis on the fact that it's a current recommendation and may not hold up a year from now.

I never thought about juice reviews that way! That's a really good suggestion. I just thought I would throw out some popular brands and flavors so people can have a nice list of what's most popular. I'll make sure to use your advice when describing my personal favorites!

I ran across a few such videos when i was first getting into vaping... the biggest problem I encoutered with them is how outdated they were, even though they were all less than a year old at the time I watched them.

So I think the idea of yours is great, BUT... you are going to need to be continually updating them.... every 3? 6? months.

Ooooh, that's a good idea! Just do some mini updates every few months or so. :D

Although you have to order it My Freedom Smokes has an unbranded EVOD starter kit for about $8. I started with that to see if this was something that was going to work for me. Needless to say within a week I upgraded to a bigger battery but it got me started.

As for set-ups...I think you are on the right track. Although, for me personally, cigalikes didn't cut it at all. They actually turned me off of vaping for a long time until I saw a friend with a decent set up. I also think having 2 full set-ups, even if one is cheap, is crucial for those wanting to use vaping as an alternative to smoking analogs.

Juice - I have ordered from My Freedom Smokes, Bootleg vapors and TKO. Really liked the vendors but some of the flavors were ok (just taste preference there). For people who have been smoking menthols though I have one huge suggestion. Get a bottle of Ice Hit from Bootleg. For me the hardest part of finding a liquid that I liked involved finding a vape that tasted great and I could feel (not sure if that makes any sense at all). A couple drops of Ice Hit and it makes a world of difference. I also got a bottle of their sweetener and use it in everything.
Make sure to go into detail a bit about PV/VG and nic levels when it comes to throat hits, that takes a bit to understand.
Nic level to start vaping with. I would suggest getting a few small bottles with different levels to help start.

As for advice -
For me quitting was all about mind set. I decided it was a change I wanted to make and did it. For others, there may be other reasons but that is what worked for me. Finding the right juice made it 100x easier. I also keep a nigher nic level juice for those times when I really need a fix.

Please recommend people to ECF. The amount of knowledge available to them is amazing and I have had so many of my questions answered just by searching here. Not to mention the people here are some of the most supportive and kind people I have ever come across.

If you have anything else you want input on, please let me know.
