Need advice on what to buy

Hi.

I've been using the VIP e-cigarette for the past few months, and really getting on with it.
Perfectly happy with the battery life and the taste / amount a vapour / nicotine hit, etc.

I've been refilling the cartomizers myself with eliquid, which works well.

However, I want to move on because the cartos from vip are quite expensive... they dont sell empty ones, (I want to experiment with different flavours)

I would also like a PCC, which VIP dont do.

What should I get next? I have to stress, It's really important... it has to LOOK like a cigarette. Psychologically, the fact that it looks like a normal cigarette is important to me, to feel like I am still smoking....... I don't want to me smoking a tank contraption.

Ive looked at the liberro Realis... problem is, the carts only supply 160 - 180 puffs (10 - 15 cigarettes)

VIP catos give 300 puffs - upto 40 cigarettes... and I find this to be quite accurate.

I then looked at an Innokin AI0.... which looked good....... but one review said a full cart only provides 7 - 10 cigarettes worth of vaping?

I couldn't drop down to that!

any advice would be great!

The vendors that say their cartomisers last for only about 7-10 real cigs are the honest ones. R77 is right, the VIP is an RN4081 thread - unfortunately, none of the good UK vendors stock that model any more.

I know you say you want another ciggie lookalike, but you really would do so much better to get something more cigar sized, like a Riva or ego.

Thank you that looks good - I am not TOO bothered about the PCC at the moment (although that is a good price!)

I just want to be able to buy empty carts (for about £1 each, sounds reasonable) and fill them with my own liquid..... and I want a full cart to last about the same amount of drags that my full VIP carts provide.

I know most things use the 510 system now - so my existing batteries wouldn't fit - but I'd buy new batts if needs be!

Lol, that does sound very fickle indeed

The main reasons that most of the good vendors don't stock many ciggie lookalikes is due to them under performing, poor battery life & the last thing most folks want when vaping is fro their e-cig to be mistaken for a real cig. ;0

ah ok so really I'm looking for something that doesn't exist.

I might just stick with what I've got for the time being then. One battery will last me a couple of days, same with the cartridges. ( I only used to smoke 6 cigarettes per day)

Shame empty carts aren't available with RN4081 thread!

If I can get my head past the whole cigarette lookalike thing, I might look at getting a different system in the future.

I've been on this forum for a long time and most of the new members that continue to post here, will eventually try out a bigger style battery. I myself? Oh boy. I came to this forum extremely defensive of anyone telling me to get a bigger battery type device or kit. I would literally defend my little 510 kits and say I'd never have a need for something bigger. I'd say the little 510 kit was ALL i needed.. But now I'm the proud owner of many different mods, some of them look like they belong in a sex shop they are so large! haha. I love them to death and I wouldn't be caught dead at home without them. For out and about, eGo style batteries OR 18350 big battery mods are my mods of choice. They ROCK and they will last longer than the smaller e-cigs in many ways. Total lifetime of the batteries and charge lifetime as well. The little e-cigs just don't hold weight to the bigger ones.


Now, you can INDEED get blank cartomizers for the RN4081 that will thread into your batteries! I don't know who said you couldn't. Here are some links that will bring you to sites that sell RN4081 cartomizers: (You can also search "RN4081 cartomizers" on google)

Alternatively you can e-mail the vendor directly and ask if they will ship2you. Many of them will ship overseas if you contact them and ask how.

Now were you saying that you were looking for a new kit of batteries as well? MOST of the websites I listed have your batteries. Madvapes does not carry RN batteries, but they DO carry adapters to use other batteries with your RN cartomizers, and vice versa. They also carry adapters so that you can use 510 cartomizers with your RN batteries. Awesome, right?

I think one day I probably will move away from the mini-ciggy style products. I've already spent a lot of time on google, researching all the differnent type of kit available......... but yes, I do really want to avoid anything that looks like it belongs in a sex shop or a bomb factory!

For the time being, I can't understand why RN4081 blank cato's aren't sold in my country ...... I spent a few hours doing that exact search you quoted, and they all gave USA results.

I didn't look at the postage costs... but everything we, in the UK order from the USA, is subject to additional taxation by customs, making it uneconomical for me to order from overseas, in comparison to ordering the carts from my existing vendor.

The more I think about it, the answer seems to point to getting a different type of kit - But I will not rush into it - maybe wait until my current supply of cartos are used up, and the batteries become inefficient!

I'd maybe just keep a couple of ciggy-alikes, for out in pubic / nights out...... and for the time being, do some more research on other types of kit I can look for!

I would like to say I think the best move up kit is a EGO-T kit simple and easy to use and when you are ready for clearos they fit the batteries . GL and happy vaping mrmitch !

Sounds like you did fine. Do you have a link for the product page of what you got? Gotta tell ya though...it ain't going to look anything like a cigarette! Especially with the clearo on it! Personally, I still use cartomizers and tank cartomizers. I like 'em better (less fiddly in my opinion). But that's just me. Also, I was going to suggest trying to refill the cartomizers you have for you VlP rig...that should be possible. I have Safe Cigs from 'way back that I've refilled (they have the same threading as your VIP). Just a thought.

Hi - Ive already been filling the cartomizers for the VIP cig I've already got - but I felt that I needed to upgrade after being told that the cig g-lookalikes are really poor performers compared to the tank systems.

I did really want something that looked like a cigarette - but it appears that none of the decent ones do.... so I gave up on the idea and ordered this:

You can buy a RN4081 to 510 adapter. They are about 7mm long and allow you to use any 510 carto, tank, etc., on your "classic" battery.
