Throat hit is primarily the result of nic level. Most start at 24mg nic level and move up or down depending on the level of throat hit they provide. Warmer vapor enhances throat hit to a degree.

I would suggest a variable wattage (VW) model PV (personal vaporizer) so you can adjust the power to the carto/atty to fit what you prefer. With VW unlike VV (variable volt), it is set and forget. VW will keep the power level as you set it automatically as the atty/carto resistence changes.

A good, inexpensive VW model is the Vamo ($40). Unlike the VV ego models which run $25+ for the batteries, the Vamo batteries cost about $11. You save money in the long run. I don't know who sells them in the UK. Liberty Flights does sell the Vamo's more expensive cousin the Zmax.

Zmax:

Sigelei ZMAX

Vamo:

VAMO Variable Volt/Watt APV V2

Both of these will handle 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos (regular or tank) which will also provide warmer vapor which the ego spinner and twist can not handle.

best thing i can say to anyone that wants to vape.
go for the best you can afford now.
you'll spend alot of money and wind up wishing,
you had done it in the first place.

buy the best and pass up the rest.
spend once now, or twice later.
i like provari, they're made in the usa, they make me happy.
i don't live in china, so i'd rather not support them.
buy what makes you happy, and you will be.
it really doesn't matter what you use, how much you spend.
the point is, you're not smoking.
life is short, and you can't take it with you....
play with it 'till you're bored, then get a new one.

I have had several types of eCigs from the old joye 510's to the eVic. eVic is the best by far. VV and VW make a huge difference in the experience. $105 for the eVic and another $12 on a Vivi or Mega BCC (My Personal Choice) and you will see the difference. The 2600mah of the eVic lasts me several days on a charge, plus the ability to plug in the USB side port to charge has saved my bacon on several occasions.
