I bought an electric cigarette branded "Red Dragon"... my first time using cartomizers and I'm very pleased with it..

Both of my batteries are defective two weeks after buying it, though.. One of them sits there with the light on all of the time and won't charge, the other one just won't activate when I draw through it (with or without a cart)..

What I want to know is.. where can I get a good strong battery that'll last??
I'd like to have a 6v but would settle for a reliable 3.7v..

Second to that, I'd like to know where to get inexpensive cartomizers.
I saw a guy on youtube demo the njoy cartomizers and they don't look very good, to me.
These Red Dragon cartomizers really put out the vapor and the taste is very good..
Where can I buy these a little cheaper??

Please help me out with these questions because I "need" to buy something as quickly as possible.. these things have been a lifesaver in helping me to avoid "the weed" :)

THANKS GUYS!!

Like many you bought a commercial e-cig that is outrageously pricey and does not deliver.

Best option for you is to get a new kit, so you are not stuck with that. It seems that kit is exactly like the Njoy npro21. That is a pretty bad cartomizer e-cig.

Check the suppliers sub-forum here and search for the KR808D-1 kits if you must have a cartomizer ecig. You could check also the Joye 510 as you can use it with cartomizers or carts.

I too recommend the eGO.. i however recommend the kit that Nhaler.com has, i really dig the drip tip.. link: Ego Kits

in terms of Carto's.... i have only used the ones available from madvapes.com.. i get 3-4 days use out each one before i personally taste a difference and cannot use it anymore.
Link: Cartomizers

madvapes also has some very tasty juices avail.. but for juices i primarily use DIYflavorshack.com... cant go wrong with these juices...

Here's the review I saw of the NJoy cartomizers..
Zop4KgFfKXQ on youtube .. I cannot link, yet..
I notice that the threads are opposite of this "Red Dragon" thing
But it does look like the Njoy cartomizers are pretty terrible

I'm usually the guy everyone comes to when they need to find a deal on something or figure something out. With these e-cigs, I am baffled, so many brands, so many obscure numbers... No one seems to know what is actually made where or by who...

The reason I wanted cartomizers is because I've used SEVERAL e-cigs with atomizers.. The Njoy actually was the best of those, for me.. But I kill atomizers very quickly because I vape like a freight train .. not one of the best things to do like a freight train .. but it's good for some things

I manhandle everything and I like things to perform. :)

Another reason I loved the cartomizers was because these make so much vapor, and for such a long period of time. I gutted a few of them and can't imagine how they work so well. There's nothing to them. It's amazing, to me!!

If you manhandle everything and vape like a freight train I have only 1 suggestion. It's costly upfront, but it will last and you'll be happier in the long run and save money on all the trial and error...

Get a Silver Bullet, 2 18650 batteries, a charger for said batteries, and some 510 cartomizers.

That's all you'll need. One battery will last ALL day. The Silver Bullet hits like a freight train. The 510 carto's perform very well.

Good Lord... I've seen that thing but I thought that I had imagined it one time when I was drunk.... THAT is what we need. For sure.

Do you know if they have any normal sized lithium polymer batteries, yet?
My understanding is that LiPo batteries store alot more in the same sized piece, but they're very touchy when it comes to charging?

By the way, this red dragon came with some funny two piece changer.. 110 to USB to E-Cig.. Could something about the charger have friend the batteries?

Hello, THE, and welcome! I'm a relative newbie myself, but I have gained some experience.

Personally, I've used KR808D-1s, 510s, and now a BB, which is the little sibling of the Silver Bullet. I've also tried atty/carts and cartomizers. Finding what is the best for you is an adventure, and may cost you a bit initially. But everyone is different, and will prefer different things.

Just be aware, however, that if you go into 5v or 6v vaping, you may find that your atomizers or cartomizers will not last as long. They really are not made for that voltage. Still, many prefer the higher voltage for greater vapor production and th. YMMV. There are a few hv atomizers however. Some of the forum suppliers carry them. But I'm not sure if you gain any in vapor or throat hit by using an hv atomizer on a 5v or 6v batt.

Good luck with the adventure!

I'm thinking about just buying a usb "passthrough" cable since the better battery options are so costly / labor intensive .. I should get at least 4.5 volts from that, right?

Someone mentioned premium "cartomizers" and "510 cartomizers" ... not sure what those are.. or what the differences are .. can't really find much info out there

Hello again, THE.
Cartomizers are a single unit that combines an atomizer and cartridge in one. They do not tend to last as long as an atomizer, but they do cost less. So, if you are using a three piece ecig, then using a cartomizer makes but a two piece ecig.
They can be refilled several times, but as I wrote, do not last quite as long as an atomizer. They are made in KR808D-1/901 threading, and in 510 threading. So you can fit one to most of the major battery types.

Re: Cartomizers -- I buy mine from http://www.rrvaporz.com/. They are blank that I fill w/my own choice of eJuice. I bought two 5-packs for $6.50 each so I could dedicate one carto to each flavor. I keep my 30ml juices and one carto each in snack-sized baggies. That seems to work well for me to just grab a baggie and the carto is already there and sometimes filled -- no searching or fussing. One thing I learned about cartos is that when you fill them, put the tips back on them and turn them thread side down for about 20-30 min. That will keep the juice out of your mouth. Happy vaping.

I understand that part fairly well.. and to me, a guy who can wear an atomizer out in a week, catomizers seem like they last almost as long at a fraction of the cost for me.... does that makes sense?? Why is the vapor so impressive from the cartomizers with the same juice?? What's the story on that?

An actual atomizer, I know, has a sturdier / bigger element or coil or whatever it is called.. Is it because the carto element is completely surrounded by the filling?

Just to be sure I read you correctly, cartomizers are basically all the same, except for the threads??

Sorry if I sound tired... I was all morning on a road trip helping my sister buy a boat from some guy who left work at 2AM..... then, of course, on the way back it rained (hard) ...... .. :D

WoW.. very good, then!!
I saw blanks on some other site but not that cheap....
I was thinking, he,,, it can't cost more than something in the low low low tens of cents to produce these, so is there anywhere I could buy 1000 at a time for some insanely low price????

Here is how tired of I am.. I took three tries editing this to figure out To be able to post links or images your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 8 posts. was due to me quoting your post with the link in it

Hello again, THE!

All passthroughs are not the same, but many of them do have a higher voltage. Check the seller's description carefully.

As for cartomizers, a lot of forum members really like the Turbo cartomizers at this site: Vapor Nine - Nebula Turbo (KR808). That's if you stay with KR808D-1 threading on your batteries, which is what seems to be the Red Dragon though I cannot tell for sure.

If you want to change batteries altogether, or get an adapter, 510 cartomizers are getting a very good reputation for vapor production and throat hit. Personally, I like them the best. But you will need either 510 batteries or compatible, or an adapter for the batteries you have now. Check out this site for 510 cartomizers: Cartridges.

Actually, cartomizers are not all the same, except for threads. The 510 cartos that I have are very different internally from the KR808D-1 cartos that I have. The batting is different, and though I have not pulled one apart, I've read that the atty inside is different. There are also two different manufacturers of 510 cartos, SLB and Boge, and their cartos are reported to be different internally from each other.

Also some have soft end caps for easier refilling, while others have hard caps. With hard caps, the CCFM method of refilling is the easiest by far.

And yes, I think it is the fact that the coil is surrounded by the saturated batting that makes a lot of the difference.

Personally, I get better vapor from 510 cartos than KR808D-1s by YMMV.

Buy a 1000 at a time??? I wouldn't do that, as the eCig tech is still new. You won't go through 1000 by the time they have MUCH better ecigs than they do now. Each one of my carts are going on 6 weeks now, and I haven't blown even one yet.

These ecigs available now are so crappy and primitive -- juice in your mouth, juice in your hands, juice leaking down your battery, juice everywhere -- yuk. There better be a whole lot they can do to improve them, or yes, they just might (rightly so) get banned. No, I believe the Chinese want our money so badly that they're selling us the 1000s they have in warehouse stock, THEN they'll come out with something really, really sweet -- a no fuss, no muss sweet mercedes premium line of what they should have been to begin with. See, that way they'll have a non-ending supply of American dollars coming through. We Americans are wealthy and dependent enough to just spare ourselves and buy everything from them like we're doing now -- painless and convenient.

But if you want to buy 1000 cartomizers: Try these two things while you're shopping around: eMail sagivechen@hotmail.com. he's a chinese factory sales rep. Also, try topproductssale.com. while you're there, take a peek at their new T-Rex (eGo clone, but no button-sticking problems) for $38 which is also has a nice, long warranty on it, and is BTW about $40 cheaper than you can find here in the states. Happy shopping, happy vaping.

Hi Again THE,

I was reading Deals & Steals and found a link you might be interested. The cartos are 30 cartos for $24.88. Here's the link. I don't know, though, if they have the particular cartomizer you're looking for, but everything on here has some really low prices. They're even advertising three 100ml bottles for $20 -- never seen anything that cheap:unsure:. I'm sorry I can't recommend this company, as I've never done business w/them, but I thought I would pass the link on to you.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was just telling my father when I was over there the other day that it's still a relatively new technology that still sucks and it won't be perfect for some time now. I just know that they could do better.

I can't wait to see what they come up with, next!!

The 1000 at a time idea was for reselling them.. I'd love to be able to sell them to people for a quarter or some ridiculous price around here because alot of these idiots are even more broke than I am and I feel bad for (some of) them :))
