So my lady tells me one of her friends has picked up vaping and buys her juices from this one store and that they can do inhouse mixes. So I go with them today to get a bottle as I've been craving a vanilla strawberry mix i would usually buy online, and im entirely out of juice...not wanting to wait for it to come in. So im all "can yall try to clone this flavor for me". I CANT TASTE ANYTHING! Its like there is no flavoring in it at all.

Okay thats obviously an overexaggeration of course. When first hitting you can taste a hint of both the strawberry and vanilla but thats it. Has no after taste or aroma, besides the PG/VG blend they used. What can i do to boost the flavor without steeping? Not having any other juices and all... What type of flavoring? I dont want to just go out and buy vanilla and strawberry flavoring and then it end up killing my coils or worse....

I think the more important question here is if you're willing to tolerate little to no flavor for a while until you can get another bottle of e-liquid, or if you want to risk potentially destroying the e-liquid you currently have and go without vaping at all. DIY juices isn't something you just jump straight into expecting no failure.

Oh, forgot to mention... alternatively, you can purchase a small bottle of strawberry or vanilla e-liquid from a gas station or vape shop and add a little of that to each tank full of the e-liquid that you don't like. I've done that in a pinch, and it's a lot easier/safer than trying to go full-on DIY.

Hi and welcome.
Return to the store and ask them to add some additional flavouring. (and nicotine if needed.)

Cheers

I agree with many of the posts here. When you have an in house juice company, and they mix the juices for you, sometimes the juices need to steep for a while to truely come out. If you want something that is already steeped, your best bet is to buy from a non in house supplier.. possibly online. Now, you can attempt to fix it by buying some cheap e-juice from a gas station with the same nicotine content and attempt to boost it, since chances are, the gas station ejuice has been sitting there for a while. But you also run the risk of ruining the juice. I would suggest filling your tank up with your current juice up to about 3/4ths, then add some of the other gas station juices, and vape it for a while to see if it truely does help. A better idea would be to ask the company you got it from to add a bit more flavoring to it.. maybe ask them to add %2 of your total volume in flavoring (for example if you bought a 100ml bottle, ask for an extra 2ml of flavoring.. if you bought a 50ml bottle, ask them for an extra 1ml flavoring).

The only way to do it yourself, is to buy some flavorings online and wait for it to ship to you. I weened myself into DIY Ejuice by mixing premade juices, then decided to go the full route. I've made some mistakes along the way, so I am experienced on what to try... and I still make some garbage juices from time to time. More does not necessarily mean better when making ejuices, and flavorings from one company might be more potent than another company. For example, Bananna I never go above %2 or it will ruin the juice.. but guava I have been known to add up to %10 for Flavor West's Guava, but no more than %8 for LorAnn's Guava.... that just comes with time.

If you asked for a "custom" juice, well then, it's likely not steeped. You could try heat steeping it, if you absolutely can't wait. I'm not sure I'd go back for more flavoring, as it's not going to change the fact that it is unsteeped, and thus, once it DOES steep, it will likely be over flavors.

I personally would set it aside (maybe after a bit of heat) for at least a week, and get storebought to vape on in the meantime. You could add a bit of storebought of similar flavor for a while, but it seems to me it would be a waste of "custom made" juice, as if you DO like the end result, you could buy more, only with enough time on your hands to make it easier to steep and perhaps your "perfect" juice. It's going to be hard to say what it's going to be like without some steep time. My guess is you are tasting (anemic) strawberry and very little cream. I personally would honestly put it aside as it's the only way you are going to know if you like this "experiment" or not.

Also, straight up DIY is a lot of fun too, but patience is required with both. As I was getting going with DIY I made sure to have storebought on hand as I was madly steeping single flavor mixes to get a sense of my building blocks of flavor and how they interact. It helped me be patient, and learn that time steeping DEFINITELY matters. Just because it's storebought doesn't mean it automatically has enough steep time, even if NOT requesting custom juice.

Best of luck,

Anna

Im not really looking to go full on DIY. Just something i can drop a few drops of into the bottle to boost the vanilla and strawberry flavor
Welcome and glad you joined.
Could look at One shot (OS) flavors, I believe these flavor mixes may be easier to work with.
I found one shot mixing to be close to the flavor advertised on the bottle and can provide some adjustment of the strength (percentage) of flavor. OS Mixing also is a good introductory to DIY.
