So i recently got the new provari and with it i got a new 510 atty but before the new atty i had been using my magma 510 from volcano for about 2 months and it has been REALLY good to me but now im noticing some strange things. upon taking my new atty out of its packaging i noticed this thing was literally DRENCHED in primer fluid so i figured "ok ill just blow it out and puff on it till the nasty stuff goes away" so i did, the primer fluid was all gone but the horrid taste still remained, after dripping and trying to get it to go away i switched to my old and trusty magma atty, put a few drops of my fave halo torque 56 in and i got the SAME horrid taste. can someone explain to me what is goin on here? am i doing something wrong? do i need a HV atty?(only vapeing at 4.5v) i was thinking of buying 3 more attys from volcano but im a bit worried now(nothing volcano did im just mostly worried that IM doin something wrong and want to wait till i know whats up to buy more) so if anyone out there knows whats up or even has the slightest idea, please help :D

You don't say what resistance rating your atty's are. If they're standard atty's they may be a bit too low for 4.5v. Try turning your voltage down to around 3.2v and work your way up until you find the voltage you want. With VV you probably need to consider ordering an assortment of atty's in different resistance ratings. Starting out with a VV mod I'd want to keep quite a few extra atty's on hand in case I burned or killed some while trying to find the sweet spot.

ALL atty's should be cleaned completely when you get them. A simple blow isn't going to cut it if the atty is "drenched" in p-fluid.

Try soaking your atty in a shot glass of White Vineger for and hour or so. Rinse it in hot water. Blow it out and then let it dry in a warm place overnight. Then prime it by dripping 3 drops of e-juice onto the bridge.

A good Vineger soak will usually cure bad tastes from an old atty also.

i would do the vinegar soak but im afraid of not getting it all out and inhaling or something lol, i boiled it for about 5 to 10 minutes and did 2 dry burns, it changed nothing :\ i also de-wicked it just to see if it might be the problem and it did nothing (although the fibers did look burned)..ill probably just do the vinegar soak tho

What voltage are you using? sounds a little like too much power.

only 4.5v ive tried going down to almost 3.2 and nothing changes :\

Thats bizzar, I've been using my standard Joye Atty's at 1.9/2.0 Ohms at 4.5 without trouble. It doesn't seem possible that you could switch attys and have the same problem. unless your juice has got the bad taste.

Sorry

Sounds like time for a new Atty to me ! not much you can do wrong with a Provari in your hand, any ohm Atty will run great on this PV as long as its a good one and set at the right voltage to match the ohm Atty your running on it. Just graba few quality Atty's and you will be fine Nahawa-Doumbia

After all you have done to that Atty it is probably hammered, get some new ones from a good quality supplier and you will be much better off, vinegar isn't gonna make that thing run any better, be a miracle if that does it in my opinion, its just time for some new Attys
do you have any suggestions?, i was looking at the Fluxomizer or just a reg HV atty, if you have any suggestions that would be awesome. Gotvapes sells atty's rated at 2.5 ohms

Try some Cisco attys from avidvaper.com...can't go wrong with a Cisco.

At anything higher than 3.7 volts buy a atomizer with 3ohm or higher sounds like you melted wick *if it hasn't been removed* if you drip then you've got some hardcore gunk burnt on. But its recommended for Atty life that under 3ohm you don't go over at most 4

Yes you'll hear that people with 2.3ohm attys cape at 5v etc but honestly that's just to hot unless there's a miss read on resistance when bought or they like literally steam haha

I'm not attacking any one just trying to put my 2cents out

On the 2month old Atty I have a 3 month old 3ohm Atty that came with my ego kit and I use it EVERYDAY so this hammered thing is a myth if you take care of your equipment properly

second place is dead last

In response to dysfoundation: i was looking into the 3.0-3.5 ohm attys and its cool that you get prolonged life out of it but i don't think its for me, i like my quick 3 second drags and clouds of vapor that follow.hope i don't come off as knocking it with what i said, i will probably buy one out of curiosity but i think in the end it might just not be for me.

In response to mauzey: I'm beginning to think that you are right about me just getting a bad batch, i grabbed the new 510 atty that i got as well as my old magma and in both of them i put in some Truepure from halo and it tastes amazing, i put in some of provapes fruit punch and that tastes amazing as well, heck i even(nasty i know but just out of curiosity and only did a quick puff lol) dripped some VERY old JC chocolate truffle juice into it and THAT was great..soo i think it may just be my halo juice. i don't know quite yet if its a bad batch, i know with halo juice people have reported getting very awful tastes from their liquid until they let it sit opened for a day to "steep" so i think im gonna try that as i kinda forgot about that part and see what happens.

I still using my standard Joye 2.0 Ohm atty after over 2 months, 4.5 volts is fine, you might burn it out sooner but the flavor and vapor is awesome. get a 5 pack. ;)

5 packs of attys? for how much? :D..lol i wish i could get into cartomizers, sometimes i wonder if in the long run they are cheaper.i feel kinda stupid because i REALLY don't like how atty's perform when you de-wick it but i did on my brand new 8 dollar atty and after letting the halo juice sit out for a day(which i forgot i did with my last bottle of it) im almost certain the taste i was getting was not from a dud atty or a burnt wick but rather a "alchohol" taste from the juice. after letting it sit out all night the awful taste is starting to go away and its beginning to taste like the T-56 i know and love and before i let it sit out all night i smelled the bottle and the scent that came from it smelled exactly like how it was tasting when i was vapeing it. i think if i let it sit for another day or two it will be perfect :D lol now i just need to buy some more atty's, gonna go buy 3 of em from volcano for like 18 bucks
