Hi all,

I quit smoking and vaped for over a year until last June when I wasn't enjoying the vaping anymore and tried to quit that. Unfortunately I've gone back to analogs and know that I need to start vaping again to quit.

I was using kgo 1100 mah with 510 and LR atmoizers. I had several fairly new batteries and am wondering if I just stopped feeling like the vape was enjoyable because I had lowered the nic level gradually from 18 to 8 and maybe that's why I wasn't getting any throat hit or vapor or if it could be something else I was doing wrong?

Anyway, I'm wondering if I should just go back and try with the same equipment or if there is something dummy-proof (ie no real maintenance needed, no hole-drilling, no soldering, no cleaning, etc) that someone could recommend to try to kick this horrible analog habit again.

Thanks!

You might want to try some of the variable voltage options like a spinner or twist, and play around with several types of toppers. We're you dripping on atomizers?

Also, maybe don't drop the nicotine as dramatically. Dropping to low nicotine doesn't really help if you go back to smoking. ;)

Good luck! Please give it another try. There are many fun gadgets to play with these days.

Thanks Spazmelda! I was using the condom method to fill and then taking off the drip tip and dripping onto the filter to add more.

Okay, so you were using cartomizers. Yes, definitely look around at all the different options now. I used to use cartomizers (in tanks) and used them for well over a year. I tried clearomizers early on, but never found one I liked. The increased popularity of the bottom coil cartomizers convinced me to give them a try and I'm now using a protank. I really like it. It is much more convenient to fill, relatively trouble free (although some ppl have issues, as with anything), and more economical than cartomizers. Another bottom coil option would be an evod. Many people like the top coil clearos, like the vivi nova. There are many other options, these are just some of the most common ones.

You sound like you don't really want to be tweaking stuff, and for some that's an important aspect of maintaining interest (this is my opinion). You may want to find some other way to keep it exciting for you. Maybe always trying different juices or venturing into DIY. I find, for me, if there is an aspect that can keep me trying new things I tend to stay interested.

I use Smoktech Pyrex DCT carto tanks with Boge XL LRs. Vape a treat. No maintenance. I am using a Smoktech Magneto, telescoping unregulated mod. If you are thinking about variable voltage or wattage, I'd recommend the eVic by Joyetech. It is a bit fragile, so don't bring it when you are barrel riding, but it performs very well and isn't huge. Good luck, welcome back and have fun!

Yes, cartomizers, sorry! How quickly I forgot the terminology! The tanks do look interesting and would prevent having to drip so often. Forgive my ignorance, but on those pages I don't see much about batteries. Could I use them with the 510 1100mahs that I have already or is there something special I need to look for?

Welcome back
I also own the Kgo but moved up to variable voltage Spinners and Twists. You can use the Kgo charger on them so all you'd need is a battery.
As far as cartomizers when I first began I also grew tired of topping off the cartos so I bought a carto tank:
Carto+Tank- a Carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates Carto by way of hole in Carto. My Cartos with a tank last, before tight draw occurs:
light juices- 80-90 ml.
dark juices- 50-60 ml.
I also found using a 1.8 ohms cartomizer worked best with the Kgo.
Best of Luck.
In regards to clearomizers some are top coil- the head (wick+ coil) is at the top of tank and gives a warmer vape. Others are bottom coil (head at bottom of tank) and give a cooler vape.
In regards to threading you have a choice of 510 or eGo threaded accessories.

I like clearomizers but realize occasionally they have to be washed and/ or dry burned otherwise we get a nasty taste from the buildup of old juice on the coil.. A very simple but required procedure.
Or we can just replace the head- easy (15 secs) and inexpensive ($1.00-$2.00).
Best of Luck.

Edit: One last point. Some juices are "acidic" and will destroy plastic tanks- both some carto tanks and some clearomizers- there are glass/ pyrex clearomizers and glass/ pyrex carto tanks to solve this issue.
