I keep getting dry burning hits. My mods are a SVD and an MVP2 and my tanks are both Iclear30. It has only happened with 3 of my DIY juices. I mix them at 70/30 VG/PG. The first time I made the juice it was delicious, so I made a bigger batch but this time I added 6 drops of .9 % Saline for 10ml to make it not so thick, I was thinking maybe this was my problem, so the next time I made it I added 6 drops of Vodka, thinking it was the Saline. but it still happened. I replaced my coil and I have the same problem, so I'm thinking it's my juice. It's happened with 2 different flavors of juice. I don't think the juice is getting inside to the coils.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I was making 100% vg, and quickly learned why most people don't, lol. Even with distilled water, I need to keep my tank as upright as possible, and prime if I haven't hit it for a while. Even 70/30 still seems a little high on the vg side. I made tests of 70/30 vg/pg and 50/50 and compared both to the 100%. There isn't much diff between the 100 and 70/30, I don't think, so I'm going with 50/50 for now.

From what I see here on the forum, tastes vary, but seems like most are going somewhere from 50/50 to 70/30 PG/VG.

All VG can be used, it does gum up the works more though.

I too use 30%PG to 70%Vg. And I have found that If I use Undiluted VG at 70% or Greater, then Poor Wicking/Dry Hits is a Definite Possibility.

I like to Add Water to my VG down to the Point where it is about as Thick as PG (maybe a Tad Thicker) and then keep that in separate Bottle.

Then when I make a Mix calls for VG, I use the Diluted VG instead of the Pure VG. It saves a Bunch of Time because I don't have to Calculate how much Water to add to Each Mix. Just add the Diluted VG.

How diluted do you make your VG?

I read on here somewhere to make a VG solutions with 85% VG, 6% Distilled Water, 6% Saline and 2% water. Maybe I'll have to try that too.

Can I just add distilled water to the juices that i'm having issues with or would I need to add more flavor too?

I just Dilute the VG until it looks like it as a Tad Thicker than PG. Do this in a Separate Bottle. So if you get Crazy, and Add Too Much, you can just add more VG to it.

I dunno... Maybe 5%?

Sure, you can add a few Drops of Water to an Already Mixed e-Liquid. And I don't think you will need to Add any New Flavoring.

It doesn't take that much Water to make a Finished e-Liquid Thinner.

I'm sure it Will.

And don't forge to Tilt your Clearo or Whatever so that the e-liquids Pools around the Coil Area when you take a Hit.

I added 12 drops of distilled water to 30ml of juice and used a new coil and it still did it. Did I not add enough? I was thinking 12 drops would be plenty, where I've already added some previously, but apparently not, I'm wondering about adding some PG? The liquid don't appear to be real thick in the bottle but it looks kind of thick when I'm rolling it around in the tank.

What Volts are you set at? And what Ohms is your New Coil?

7.5 Volts and 2.1 ohms.
I'm thinking it has got to be the Saline.

7.5v @ 2.1 Ohms and you think it is the Saline? LOL

Your Running at 27 Watts. Which is the High End of All Vaping.

I wish I had Asked this Right from the Start. Because I have No Clue how to Keep an e-Liquid from Tasting like Flaming Marshmallows using 27 Watts of Power.

Why So Many Volts?

I'm sorry, I meant Watts, not Volts! LOL

Lol...I like the flaming marshmallows reference. 7.5 watts should be fine on your gear.

I mainly use cartos and I use no PG. Just VG and VG nic base with flavoring. I always add at least 10% distilled water to my mixes to cut down on the molasses factor.

I use VG nic base also.

I will try just adding a few more drops of water and keep track until I get it right.

Do any of you ever use Vodka instead of water or both?
