Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it!

I think it was mainly my coil was too old because when I made a new coil and had better flavour and could hit it longer.

As for the wick If I hold it parallel to my eye level I can see a small space between the wick and the coil so I don't think I'm choking my wick, could that still be an issue though?

My new dual coil turned out to be .46 Ohms with 24 gauge and about 10-11 wraps on a 3mm bit

if you see space, then it's not right... the cotton needs to be in contact with the coil at all times, otherwise, none is being "pulled" by the heat, and only the bottom of the coil is vaporizing.

The balance between too much and too little is fairly thin, one approach I suggest: poke a needle or wire in the middle of the wick and work it like that a little bit, BUT you must not squish the cotton, just move it against the inner walls of the wraps and keep the middle "fluffy" as possible. This also creates a "more open" inner area for the liquid to pool into.

Also have a bit of extra fluff at the ends to act as reservoirs, while the tips should be just enough to cover the feed holes, but the tips must be cut sharply to have clean ends to the fibers that will grab the liquid better, with a bit of it being uneven to create a better "suction" area.

But you should consider looking into temp. control... which will mean no more dry hits.
