I've been vamping for about 3 months now. I have several K808s from smokelessimage and Vapor4life. They work well and have been doing the job.

I am loking to upgrade to a good eGo style PV. I am looking at the GoGo Pro and the empower.

E-Power From Smok Tech and HECS

GO-GO PRO (LIMITED EDITION)

My main concerns are battery life and build quality. Any opinions?
Thanks!!!

You don't care about compatibility? Does Gogo have an adapter yet? If not then you will be limited to Gogo attachments (whatever atomizers and/or cartomizers they make with Gogo threading)

With E-power, you have 510 threading though I think you need a shorty 510 extender (madvapes) to use some attachments (mainly Joye ones) that are designed to fit the Joye Ego very closely. (like maybe Ego Mega dual coil cartos and maybe tank attys?) but you can use anything 510 on E-power and anything of most other models by using an adapter.

Some people love the go-go. I didn't. Compared to the kr808 it was too cool and airy. I switched to an igo because it is kr808 threads and I like the draw better. But I mostly still use my volt batteries with clear and easy tanks when I'm home, switching off with the igo when I need a change.

I guess with adapters any big battery will work with any threads but I think you might have more choices with a 501.

The gogo seemed to require fiddling with the battery post quite often. My igo needs that sometimes also when I switch to different types of cartos but the gogo needed it a lot. Not sure if that is a build quality issue or just a minor characteristic of the gogo.

edit: I was using the standard gogo, not the "pro"

Agree with Dormouse! Here are some more incentives for an e Power: Replacement switch: $12, replacement batteries: $2.50 from China including postage.

Batteries and switches will fail-it's a fact of life. I have burned through 10/11 egos and Rivas. It does not seem to make any difference if you buy a genuine Joye or knock off.

With a 510 device you just add a 510 to 901 adapter from Goodprophets (99 cents and theirs is the one I use and it does have enough airflow for 808 cartos) or you could find a 510 to 808 adapter elsewhere. Since most stuff is available for 510 threading, I recommend 510 threading for your first 3.7v big battery device unless your main interest is using KR8 cartos (3.7 is the same voltage as a slim KR808D-1 so a big battery won't be any hotter - well it will sometimes be a bit hotter than the Bloog/Volt/G6 style which are regulated 3.6v).

I don't know the Echo. What is it other than an Ego clone? Egos BTW are not 3.7v - they are around 3.3v. The Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights are 3.7v (because they sell a lot, all of their kit stock are the new 3.7v model I think by Eastmall). I do not know if their Riva 901 kits are 3.7 since they sell many fewer of those. I believe the iGo is a 3.7v KR8-threaded device,

The E-power for the cost is probably unrivalled performance wise in my experience. Whilst there may well be a similar performing kit at £35 with 2x 18650 batteries, atomisers and charger (+standard blank carts etc) but I've yet to see it.

An E-Power is a large mod, Chinese made, but it's sturdy. It weighs a fair old it, especially the 18650 model but that's small price to pay for 2 maybe more solid days vaping without needing a charge on a single battery.

Pair up an e-power and a 5ml map tank and frankly you've got a beast of a P.V setup with very little to worry about, should last any Vaper, even a heavy chain Vaper 2 full days at least.

Are their probes with them? Yeah I've known a few, some report slightly poor switch performance (can be replaced quite inexpensively without needing a whole new unit like a lot of P.V's) with jammed switches or requiring total replacements. Paint is easily scratched off on the black version and some again feel the lessor 14500 battery versions are better (Grimm Green recently expressed this in a review). I've had mine over 3 months now and aside from paint scratching, had not a single prob with it. It's a pure no nonsense inexpensive powerhouse. Worth every penny, but consider the silver no paint version if you do get one.

I can't speak to the Echo or the Go-Go but I started vaping about a month ago and got an e-power after it was recommended by several folks here on the forum. I have the 14650 and haven't had a lick of trouble with it. It's a 3.7V e-cig and the batteries last about a day and a half (I am a fairly heavy vaper). These batteries can be replaced for about $5-$6 and most all 510 accessories fit it. I use the LR cartomizers on mine and I get a great throat hit and plumes of vaper. Love it. Highly recommended.

And for 510 threading you could also consider a simple plastic 3.7v mod box - I got a couple in ECF Buying & Selling... Accessory and Mod Vendors forum. They were under $20 each and I bought an Ultrafire Charger (WF138? only charger 14500's and 10440's but not Trustfire 10440's which are too long) and a pair of Ultrafire 14500 protected batteries (the box uses one, the other is a spare). You have to be more careful about dropping them but they have an off-switch and are quite pocketable. One I got was clear blue and the LED shines through and one is more stealthy black. The black plastic is also a bit less prone to breaking.

Several people like this charger which can charge more sizes:
Trustfire TR-001 Lithium Battery Charger [trustfirecharger] - $11.99 : Going Gear, Gearing you up for the outdoors

Just some other options. Get whatever you like. This will probably not be the last ecig or mod you buy. Consider this one the one you want to try first.

That e-power is looking pretty good, almost got me talked into one. All the batteries I've tried are pretty much sealed shut. No easy way to replace the actual battery inside it.

...replaceable batts..for pretty cheap(14650s 5bux+-, 18650s 8bux+-) is the big draw of the e-power...being a modular unit, all pieces are user replaceable(switch, etc)..........

The echo-e is a good pv. Big batteries and the echo-e cartomizers are great and can be refilled and cleaned supposedly 100x.
I've used the echo-e cartos (510) so I assume the echo is good too (KR808).

I don't know enough about the e-power to recommend it or comment. They weren't out when I got my PV. In theory they sound good- batteries are much cheaper. I don't know how they hold up long term. My ego batteries lasted 6 months, so I was happy.
If you use LR cartos or attys on any ego you will shorten battery life. It's a trade-off I was willing to make because I like LR cartos.
