Hi! thanks for the help. if I ordered some 26g kanthal is it ok?

30 gauge kanthal is a good all round versatile gauge.

When I started vaping back in 2013, 28 gauge kanthal seemed to be the popular choice for rebuildables.

26 gauge is probably pretty popular nowadays but along with thicker wire comes lower ohms and higher power requirements.

If you have a 50 watt mod, that should be ok for 26 gauge.

Thinner wire is more versatile; you can take 2 strands of the thinner wire, twist them together and effectively simulate thicker wire; more efficient;
The thicker wire would tend to last longer- less likely to pop while dryburning

The coil I have been using the last couple months is a 4 strand 34 gauge
