Hi,

I just screwed on a new battery that I charged that came with my ego CE5 kit. I made a mistake by getting a little spit I think in the air hole of the tip, and now it's makimg a gurgling noise and giving off a burning taste. I turned off the device, took off the clearo, blew the spit and sone eliquid out the bottom of it, used a q tip to clean off the e liquid, replaced the clearo, and still have a burning taste. What'd I do? Is the battery messed up?? :( :'(

Do you think I wrecked the coil with spit? I am such a greenhorn... :(

Is this the first time you are using this clearo? The ce5 topper?

Some of them are not made the best. Unfortunately, ce4+ ce5 type clearo QC is not always the best. So your head could have been bad from the start.

Did you wash it before using it? That sometimes helps me. either water, or if you have some, give it a vodka bath for a bit.

Typically, the 'burnt' taste with a ce type clearo is it is not wicking well and thus you are getting dry hits. Some clearos are made better than others to prevent this.

I have been using it since yesterday, perfect flavor until this stupid idiotic fiasco I created. No did not wash it. It's a rebuildable CE5 so if all else fails I can slap on a new coil.

Or, you can wash it out and dry-burn it. I'd start there. Also, do you know what % PG/VG your liquid is? Like, 50VG/50PG, or 80PG/20VG?

if it was working fine yesterday, it is possible the head 'died'.

It is rare for a head to burn out that quickly, but certainly possible. I had one pop on me one time in 45 min. :/ I also had some last weeks.

If you have replacement heads, it is worth trying a new one. Dont throw the old one out yet.

I really doubt it was because you got a little juice down the rubber hole. That can cause the flooding and gurgling problem you had, but not this.

it is difficult to say, but a 60\40 juice really should wick okay.

where do you have it filled up to on the fill line?

I have it at 1.4* ML and I topped it off this morning- it was at 1 ML. What's weird is the burning taste started right after the spit went down into the hole- I was staring at my phone and holding it vertical. Then I heard the gurgling and I was like oh s*** what'd I just do?? I opened the clearo by taking off the tip and it has this electrical burn smell too under the blueberry scent.

Hmm. If you are getting a rubber burning smell, it's best to change the head. You may want to change the juice in the clearo as well. The head may have popped or twisted and is on the heat wrap inside the head or a rubber gasket in the head may be heatig up.

I tried these types of clearos for a few weeks and get frustrated with them. They work okay when they are working, but they are very finicky. The iclear16's worked well for me in that style though. And you can get them fairly cheap. $3 each on fast tech and usually like $5-6 each from us vendors.

There are other options for clearos as well, like the evods and protanks.

Hmm. I'll try it again, I'm letting it sit and if it still has that electrical burn/smell taste I'll add a new coil. Thank God I stocked up!
