I'm desperatly trying to get some flavor out of some juice. vaping Snow Whites demise by The Mad Alchemist. Its 70/30 vg pg. Using ipv d3 with a Serpent 1.7 ohm 28g 10 wrap single kanthal. Wicking seems good as I get good vapor. Been stepping up wattage from 18 to 28 watts. Mod cant deliver more than 7v output, so I can't go higher on wattage. Been trying different builds from sub ohming to higher builds. Same results.

Been having difficulty with anything else than 50/50 pg vg in terms of flavor. Am I just to accept that I will get almost no flavor from anything else than 50/50 pg vg or is there something I haven't taken into consideration? The producer of the Serpent says its built to handle max vg so I don't understand why I get almost no flavor. Frustrated to say the least.

hi mate,
Maybe the airflow in the serpent is a bit much...
Have you considered that the serpent just sucks for flavour?
What wick are you using? Coil DIA? Are you drawing hard, sharp and long enough?
What other tanks/RDAs/ juices do you have to compare with?

Cheers
I

If you want flavor get a flavor chasing Atty.

I had a Serpent but could not use it becsuse the airflow ring was do darn tight i could not adjust it becayse of my wrecked left hand. So have no idea what tge flavor of tge serpent is like.

The best attys i have found for flavor are

Silverplay nano rta
Goblin mini RTA
Freakshow mini RDA
Orchid V3 rta
kayfun nano rta
Kayfun Monster mini rta

It seems your limited by your set up. It doesn't like high VG content.
VG tends to mute flavors. Pg tends to bring the flavors out more.
It depends on the particular flavors you use to a certain extent also.
Try different Gauge wire. 30 or 32. Flat wire might help. A different
style of coil wrap. Try different tank styles.
The ipv 3d should suffice. I don't think more power is the issue.
Lowering the resistance of the coil or increasing the power will
just give you more bland tasting vapor.

Mike

VG does not carry flavor as well as PG, therefore, a higher VG juice won't have as much flavor as a 50/50. Some liquid makers add additional flavor to higher VG liquids to compensate, but even so, they never seem to match a 50/50 blend for me. That being said, the difference shouldn't be so significant that you get no flavor in comparison to a 50/50 blend.

The Serpent is an excellent flavor tank. Period. But IMO, you are not building to suit it and/or your wicking is off. It has a huge center airhole, so a larger coil with thicker wire will work better. I'd recommend at least a 2.5mm to 3.0mm. Thicker wire will improve your wattage range by lowering resistance. A larger coil will also allow for more liquid reserve in your wicking.

There is an extensive thread on this tank in the RTA section which will have plenty of build pics and suggestions to help.

First of all, use a coil with ohms where the full range of wattage is available.
Probably 0.5 ohms should do for the ipv d3

How long ago did you quit smoking?

It takes some time for your taste buds to regenerate. It could simply be that for a while you need a higher flavor concentration.

What's your nic level? For me, the higher the nic the harder it is to taste the flavors.

Also keep in mind everyone is different. I prefer fruity creams because I simply cannot taste straight fruit nearly as well.
