Need Help w/ Switch Ratings

Your right, they will die in time. For our purposes you can expect 6months to 1year. 9 times out of 10 the switch on a stock 510 battery was the failure point, however. Took apart a few "dead" batteries and I found in all cases the li-on battery itself was fine. It was either the switch or the pcb that failed.

oh wow. I cannot wait for one of those batteries to die so i could take them apart. Do you have any good pics of the inside of a 510 battery?
Hmm, I don't but if I look at my pile of junk on my workshop desk I might have one of the internal batteries I could snap a pic of. It is a bit thinner than the tube (obviously) about 2inches long (give or take) and wrapped in silver plastic with two wires coming out of it. The batt is connected to a small pcb with a tiny tactile switch on it and then a set of wires run to the connector, and another run to the led. Not much to it really.

This is a pic of an auto battery I found online, the manual looks about the same with a small circuit board with the switch in place of that gray plastic piece under the connector.
