First let me say that I am IN NO WAY complaining about Geoff's e-juice (except maybe that's it's so damn good I can't put it down). :p

For the last few weeks I've had a worsening problem with acid reflux (I guess that's what you'd call it - it feels like a fire in my esophagus). I notice it on and off all day, but it seems to be worse at night when I go to bed. I suspect it's a PG thing, but I wanted some feedback.

My current vape is Atomic Fireball. It's a 48mg/10%VG mix blended down to 12mg using ATF 50/50 Doubler (1 part e-liquid / 3 parts Doubler). I just wanted to get some opinions on what might be happening before I place my next order. Do you think it's:

1. Too much PG?
2. Some weird reaction to cinnamon?
3. Too much vaping in general?

Any other ideas? I was *almost* a chain-smoker for a lot of years and I do hit the e-cig quite a bit during the day.... probably too much - it's why I cut my nic from 24mg to 12. It could be a general vaping thing... I started vaping exclusively Nov. 17th and it's possible it's just now catching up with me.

Thoughts?

I also have this problem. Because the PG coats our throats i think this is causing it more than anything else. Tums and all the others dont seem to work but what i have found that does work is drinking Milk. A couple of glasses of milk in the evening seem to cure all my ills and coat my throat and stomache and make the acid reflux go away. Also, the milk seems to be a good palate cleanser. Makes all the carts taste better.

Reduced vaping is not an option for me... I love it to much. So the milk really works for me.

Not too sure this is juice/vape related. I was a dedicated chain smoker and have not let up since switching to vaping. I also take those lovely purple pills for acid reflux that cost two arms, three legs, and 3/4 of an eye.

To make a long story short, ran out of pills recently and went for several days without them. The reflux did not kick back in until I had pizza and it was brutal. But throughout that time I was still sucking down the juice like it was the end of the world.

Still, I do not have too bad of a reaction to PG - occasional sore throat.

Thanks for the replies. I've never had a big problem with reflux before so I don't think food has anything to do with it. I get a decent amount of milk most nights also...

I've switched back to my old juice (no cinnamon - more VG) for now to see if that helps. I'm also going to try and vape a little less during the day.

My guess is that whatever cinnamon oil/flavoring is in the AFB could potentially be an irritant if you're vaping it non-stop. (Like other strong spices it might worsen reflux. Then again I see a lot of unsubstantiated home-remedy claims about cinnamon for acid reflux.)

Perhaps switch out to another flavor and see how it goes? Or drink more (non-acidic) liquids while vaping if you don't already. Of course, if it keeps happening despite changes you make, you should get to the doctor.

Hope it gets better soon!

Sorry to hear about that. I actually get the same on occasion. And I guess you have to chalk it up to the fact that what suppliers are doing now is really acting as pioneers for what will amount to improvements in the future. We're using products that were designed as being safe to ingest through the stomach and we're inhaling it.

There IS a small group of people that are working up the funding to launch a research of the long term effects of using these products which I think in the long run and for the further protection of our health and improvement of these products.

For now, when I get acidic, or congested, I just switch liquids for a few days and all is well again.

No problems Geoff. Like I said earlier I was vaping the ATF non-stop and was digging it so much I didn't want to put it down! :)

We're all learning new things here on an almost daily basis. I wouldn't expect to EAT Atomic Fireballs all day for weeks on end without some complications either. :p

Edit: Just went back to ATF tonight after laying off a few days.

This is absolutely my favorite vape! Great taste and massive vapor production! I might have to talk to my doctor about a Nexium prescription... ;-)
