My first build with a ss mesh. Checked out some videos on it and seemed similar to making a coil with silica. So I oxidized it by heating it red and dipping in water 3 times. Then seasoning it with my juice and burning it off 3 times. Wrapped a coil and test fired it and the outermost coil lit up after a few seconds and was really bright. I haven't been able to get all the coils to light. And the body around the coil seems hotter than it should be. Could someone help me out with this? I would greatly appreciate it

Welcome to the frustrating world of SS mesh builds

It's a hot spot which means the coil tension is off, there is a bare spot with no oxidation that the coil is touching, the wraps are not even to name the most common issues with SS mesh. Keep fiddling with it and it may come around and work properly for a while until it gets bumped hard and then start over with the fiddling to get it right again.

I believe SS mesh Protank builds were thought up by genesis tank owners that wanted a tank that did not need to be tipped constantly and did not leak. Or they had a lot of SS mesh laying around that they did not want to think they were wasting.

Build a nice micro coil, use cotton, when it gunks up remove the cotton, dry burn coil until clean, reinstall cotton and enjoy more hours of your life vaping instead of getting frustrated with a mesh coil that is a pain to clean and needs constant fiddling to keep it heating evenly.

watch some different vids on genesis builds if you feel you need to continue down this rabbit hole
