I currently use an older Buzz mod with 901 DSE-901 High-Voltage Atomizers (4.8ohm). The atomizers have a bridge and I drip directly into it with a 50/50 juice. These last me for months, sometimes a year of heavy vaping. I love the throat hit I get from these.

I am going to be purchasing a provari 2.5 and honestly I am sick and tired of dripping. However, my hesitation in purchasing a tank such as the aspire nautilus is reading that the coil needs to be replaced every week or so. I am not willing to pay for that many replacement coils.

Is there another setup that will give me a long lasting atomizer without the hassle of dripping? I want to use a tank, but is there one that doesn't require replacing the coil or other hassles?

Thanks for the help!

Pretty much all tank varieties will require higher frequency of coil changes than a well maintained traditional atomizer. Some replaceable coils can last a few weeks, up to a month, if the liquid is relatively clear and unsweetened. Many current coils use cotton wicking which can't tolerate any burning, so they need replacement more often than silica wicked coils.

Some use tanks with rebuildable coil heads or simply replaceable coils themselves, but that is quite a bit more fiddling than you may want, building coils, installing and wicking them.

In the current market, the Nautilus (or mini version, which sits well on the ProVari slant cap), using it's bottom vertical coil, may be the best option. Coil head life will be dependent on your liquid, but in any case will not come near your 901's. A higher ongoing expense plus stocking up on coils comes with the territory.

One thing in the current market is there are huge numbers of tanks coming out which typically use proprietary heads, which may not be available long term. The Nautilus is close to a standard like the Vivi Nova was, so heads should be available for at least a couple years.

Perhaps getting a Mini Nautilus and mastering it will give you a reasonable option even if you don't always use tanks versus dripping. Tanks out and about and dripping at home may be a good way to go for now.

Remember when it seemed so simple to just vape? Dripping may not seem as much of a hassle for the savings and simplicity. Good luck on your hunt!

Didn't realize the 901 hv's were still available. Excellent drippers!

Unfortunately, you won't find such low maintenance, low cost attys as your 901s. For current tank systems, you'll need to chose between replaceable heads or rebuildable.

I'm with you, I won't have an atty requiring costly replaceable heads every week or more. I use rebuildables, a box of rayon and a couple coils of wire will last me years. I rewick about every 3 or 4 days, takes about 10 minutes, and rebuild the coils every 2-4 weeks, again, about 10 minutes for a new coil

Only tank system I can think of not requiring a new wick every 3 or 4 days is a genesis style with wire mesh wicks. A good build may last a month or more & offers excellent quality vape. But genesis tanks are much harder to build, and need to be kept upright.
