I'm wondering if anyone could suggest some non-sweet flavors for me. I'm sampling flavors from different vendors but haven't exactly found what I'm looking for yet. I'm very new to all this so just 12 flavors in but I want to narrow my search down a bit and sample some not so sweet flavors. I'm wanting to stop stocking so much and think my wallet can only handle a few more samples. I never had a sweet tooth and after trying all these sweet flavors I'm thinking I should head a different direction. My favorite so far is an apricot flavor that has a very mild sweet to it but its still too sweet for my liking. I'm not looking for a tobacco taste per say, just a non-sweet vape.

So yeah, anyone have any suggestions for something non-sweet? Like maybe a salty, bitter, sour or a warm umami taste. Not sure what I'm looking for so any off the wall suggestions are very much welcomed :) Also, should I stay away from VG blend? Been using 70/30 PG/VG for all the ones I've tried.

Thanks!
Sojo

FreedomSMokeUSA Cocoa is almost bitter to me - I use it to cut the sweetness in some tobaccos and other juices when I want a change of pace

And their Cocoa Chaos is like cocoa with bottom of the pot black coffee added

And their Desert Ship is a stronger Turkish Blend tobacco - funky nutty and a bit pungent - reminds me of a freshly opened pack. Switchblade seems to be a blend of Turkish and something else.

And Chinese Dekang DK-TAB is not sweet (Turkish American blend - dark and plain flavor)

Backwoods Brew Smoke is not sweet - a very plain tobacco juice

You may want to try Tranquil from FSUSA

Enjoy this soothing flavor, with a curious and calming undertone of fruit, warmth, and peace from your busy day.

It's a 50/50 mix, not really a tobacco flavor and the undertone is very subtle. It reminds me of tobacco without tasting like it, if that makes any sense. It's very warm with excellent vapor production and TH.

I typically like sweeter flavors but when I'm in the mood for a dry, mellow vape, Tranquil fits the bill.

Hope this helps.

My latest bottle of Tranquil overpowered me with pine flavor. I'm letting it steep for a week or 4 before going back.

If you want something like but not too sweet, maybe try FSUSA's cumbermelon. It's mostly a light, refreshing cucumber taste with just a hint of slightly sweet, slightly musky melon (like cantaloupe, not watermelon).

Nice call on FSUSA dormouse, Scottitude and toddus, just looked over it real quick and they seem to have some off the wall non-sweet flavors. I'm definitely not looking for tobacco flavors but I might sample the Tranquil, sounds promising. Haven't thought about melon flavors, but that to me would fall under sweet probably. I'm really looking for something that has no hint of sweet at all but your description made me think I should try it lol. Cocoa makes sense in its raw form also so that's definitely a possibility. It's crazy, I see Pistachio, Wine, Pepper, Soy, Mushroom, Ginger, Cheese, Bread crust, etc. here (not all sound good but definitely opens up some possibilities to try). This place might be where I need to grab 5-10 samples and be done for a bit. Very much appreciated guys!

And going to read up on that additive hankbizzo5, looks like something I could adjust what I have with. Thanks for the link!

Edit: Also, any other suppliers out there you would recommend besides FSUSA? While I'm in the mood to buy some samples I wouldn't mind checking multiple places for comparisons sake.

I have ordered several sweet flavors and find myself in the same predicament. I don't like them nearly a much as I thought I would. Another direction you may want to consider is coffee flavors. My main favorite is primarily a coffee with a hint of chocolate... unfortunately I can't recommend the vendor because he is out. I ordered a cafe mocha from bwb a few days ago and hopefully it will arrive saturday. If it does and comes ready to vape and this thread doesn't get buried 5 pages deep, I'll try to remember to give a report on it tomorrow evening.

That's exactly what I was going to fall back on, was coffee flavors, if I didn't find something non-sweet soon. I hear good things about BWB as well, might have to look them over.

Also, I know its kinda random, but I heard about a few flavorings having harmful chemicals in them like diacetyl and the vanilla(?) chem sub that I can't think of the name right off. When trying all these different flavors is there anything I should look out for? Thanks Again

I've liked some flavors from Gourmet Vapor, Backwoods Brew, and VapeRite.

Just a note about ordering samples at FSUSA -- all of their 3mL sample sizes are 24mg nicotine and can't be customized. I'd really recommend instead of getting 3mL samples you pick up 5mL "samples" instead where you can customize the nicotine levels and the PG/VG split in the "flavor range" juices (specialty juices are a set split, usually 50/50). Also, keep an eye on the FSUSA forum that keelala posted, as they often run sales that are not advertised anywhere else.

Off-the-wall but one thing I did was order a couple of menthol from ecig (or smoores or whatever) and wow that is a bottle of straight-up 'CRISP' menthol. Nothing else. Like pure crisp menthol. In fact, I find it nearly unbearable on its own,
however!...
say I have a 555 blend which I find a littttttle too fruity/thick - I mix in a bit of menthol (crisp) and zooomm... I have a nice 'clean' version.
Well you get the idea here. Throwing it out there.

Any of the lime flavors from FSUSA don't tend to be too sweet to me. I'm vaping cucumber lime right now and it's only a hint of sweetness. Also, please keep in mind that higher PG will lead to sweetness to some extent. Lower your PG and up the VG.

PG - sweetness, flavor producer
VG - mutes flavor to some extent, increases vapor

cloudsofvapor.com carries all VG juices. Alot of people love them. I can't comment since I've never purchased them but you can shoot Bigbuyer, here on the forums, a PM and ask about them. He's allergic to PG so that's why everything is VG based.
