Need help with First Mod

So 3 Weeks into it and I'm looking for my first Mod. But i will warn you I am Picky and Looks are always a Plus. So First i will start with my current Equipment.

510 Kit from Cignot
Ultimate Ultimatum VK from V4L
Both manual

Reasons I got theAbove equipment:

The 510 i mainly use Home. This is my Layback while im playing wow or surfing the net PV. I love blowing clouds of smoke while vaping low Nic. I usually use VG based Juice in Menthol or French Pipe. This takes me back to when i used to smoke a pipe. I love the Vapor production and the taste comes out on my 510.

VK is my Car/Work PV. I like that I can pop a new carto and go all day. which is good because I don't want to drip or refill carts before i'm taking my smoke break or while I drive. This is also what i'm starting my wife on because she like things to be easy.

With that said here is what i am looking for:

I would like for the Mod to be able to use 510 natively, that is with out adapters. But if need be I want to be able to screw in a adapter for my Cartos.

If possible I would like for the mod to have removable Batteries. Like this I can have a few sets of battery i could cycle. This is not a must but a "Would be nice to have"

IF the device does not have removable Batteries then is should have USB charging, or maybe a option to be used as a PT while it charges. This would be hands down the most important feature.

Im not looking for a HV mod, I am happy with vaping at 3.7, but i would not mind stepping up to 4 (is thats and option) or even 5 Volts. But to be honest I am happy with my 3.7 vaping ATM

Last but not least is shape. I am not a fan of Box Mods. I would prefer Cylinder shape.

In order of intreats here is what i have looked so far as possible options,:

The Protege ( Looks like a dream come true, Have many questions about it)
Janty Baby J (If/when it comes out. Will it do 510? Possible Tesla filter Drool)
Janty Ego (Not sure if it does 510? Removable battery?)
Prodigy (Don't know much about it yet)
The Chucka (Bit to big…..)

Money should not be an issue, (Pending wife approval)

So what you guys think? I am not in a rush to go buy it. .... it took me 1 year of research before i got my First PV so I want to make sure I get something that I am going to like. I am heavily interested in The Protege but I am open to suggestions.

Cheers and Happy Vaping.

I would suggest the Janty Ego, it has changeable long lasting manual batteries and uses a 510 atty.

All you can use it at is 3.7, but it is a most enjoyable vape. If you later want more bang for your buck with a larger cart, you can try 510 mega attys and carts that allow for a larger volume of juice to be used.

It's a nice looking unit, I think you would be happy with it.

Did you know that you can make them yourself if you have cartomizer condoms?

Please explain.....

Also how much more are the adapters for using Cartos on the Ego? Do they fit while the Cone is installed? I user V4L Cartos, will these work?

Yes, an adaptor will work on the eGo with the V4L cartomizers...you'd want a 510 to 901 adaptor...Good Prophets is one of the least expensive I've found. Some people have found cartos to be just a tad tight fitting but I haven't had any problem. The great thing about the eGo is the long lasting charge.

However, if you want to have removable batteries and just 3.7V, consider the Spade...it's a nice unit. If you do decide to go up to higher voltage, I highly recommend the Thermo!!! I have the xhaler (a real workhorse) and a Prodigy V2, which I don't recommend until they figure out what I consider a design flaw...mine is "dead" even with the upgrade switch. The Thermo is easy to use and fiddle free!!!!!

Best of luck on your search...it does get overwhelming, doesn't it?

All you do is take a condom cart and a 510 cart, press the shape of the 510 cart bottom where the filler goes, into the condom cart until you break through and now you have the plug. Next, put a small hole in the center of the shape that you just made. Then get a straw, cut it down so that is fits into the empty 510 cart and so that you can put the piece that you just made on top of it so it all lays flush in the cart.

There you go, you just made your mod cart.

I prefer the Super 6 from Super T Manufacturing. It is much smaller than any other mod available. You can use either 3.6 or 6.0 volts without an extension sleeve. It looks very good and only weighs 1.9 oz with 2 batteries installed. A lot of the mode weigh as much as 4.4 ozs. This comes in silver (aluminum) or brass and is quite nice looking and easy to use. Even if you don't prefer the 6.0 you will have that capability if you want it or just try it.

Do you have to adjust the button like we had to on the original Super T?

I have a spade, I like it but it uses a 10440 battery and they do not last too long.

You could also look into the VP2 it takes a 14500 battery which is decent.

I also have a thermo and like it very much in the 3.7 and 6v configuration if you only want the 3.7 version just get the sparkplug. The thermo is the spark plug with a 6v adapter.

Personally I would keep away from the prodigy too.

I don't actually have to adjust he button but if I am switching from the 3.7 volts batteries to the 2 batteries for the 6.0 I do have to add a washer. This is quite easy to do.

Right, so its the same for the super six as it was for the original Super T. Did you have any problems getting your protected batteries to fit it?

Well, it is St. Patty's Day today; I'm drinking whiskey and vaping pretty much constantly. I refilled my cart at the bar at 9:00 pm, and I just had to refill @ 11:00 pm. So it just depends on how heavily you are vaping. It usually lasts me, vaping constantly, a couple hours. If vaping less, a little longer...

I assume it makes a difference what you are vaping, especially VG or PG. I usually vape a mix of both.

The best parts of the ZFM mod is it's simpliciity and the quality of vapor. I highly recommend it.

I just tried the ZFM mod but not having good luck, what gets me is the middle hole. I tried using a hot pit and poking a hole i the middle and it did not work, i also tried cutting it by hand, nope.....

Im going to pick up the premade plugs and try it.

PcoraJr, are you having trouble making the hole, or making it the right size. I usually make the hole before cutting the outline of the plug. Place the silicone cap on an empty cart and use a sharp razor or like me an exacto knife to make the hole. Then proceed to cut the plug out. Then once the plug is out, turn it over and clean up the hole. Btw, ZFM sucks for thin liquid. It leaked no matter how small my hole was. Cut with vg it works better and carts last for what seems like eternity.

Yeah I think that is my problem, I am trying to cut the hole after I have cut the shape, I will give it another try tomorrow. Thanks for the tips.

PcoraJr, you can also try the "X" or "Star" method instead of putting a small hole on the silicon.

I've found out the "X" works great, especially with a VERY small hole cut in the middle of the X, where the two lines converge. The most important thing so far for me is getting the height of the straw correct, so the silicon cap sits almost if not flush to the lip of the cart.

Also, razorblades are the tool of choice for this job.

Just keep messing with it, you'll get the hang of it!
