Need help with Gambit (5Pawns)

Okay, so I purchased some Five Pawns Gambit, read reviews & description which sounded right up my street...

Opened it yesterday, gave it a good long sniff, could only detect a slight whiff of apple and a massive hit of sugar.

Undeterred I filled up my RDA with it, fresh battery on mech mod, vaped it...

The taste was like a single (slightly fermented) apple in a sea of candyfloss (cotton candy), some caramel notes in there too, but certainly tasted nothing like the delicious apple pie description.

Have I got a bad batch or something? Or is this juice suited better to lower wattage vaping?

The date on the packaging is 06/01/14 (which I assume is the 1st of June).

It may need to steep for longer. Try rapid pulsing your mech (32 milliseconds a pulse), that always seems to enhance flavor for me at least. Then again, every batch is different, but I would assume not so different that they forgot the apple.

I've never been able to smell sugar, did you mean something else or is my olfactory sense defective.

Yeah, I will give it a chance and allow it to steep for a while longer, hopefully that will do the trick. I will hold off on feeling buyers' remorse.

The sugar smell that I talk of is the smell of sugar being heated, before it caramelizes.

DIY does sound like the way to go, it is a cheaper route to disappointment if nothing else, and who knows, there is always that chance to find gold.

I tried all the five pawns juice at my local store and didn't like any of them at all! Sucide bunny,Ruthvapors,king of the cloud, space jam and suduce juice are all great ejuice company's.

I am glad to hear that about suicide bunny, I have ordered some Mother's Milk and am looking forward to trying it, that is if American Vapes UK finally send it to me.

The jury is still out for me and Five Pawns, I think Gambit might be improving (I can almost smell apple at times), but it is yet to taste like anything other than cotton candy with a dash of cider.

Grandmaster did not work at all for me at high wattage, far too much overripe banana and not enough cream. Now I am using it at a lower wattage which has dulled the flavours considerably and is a lot more palatable. (but still not creamy)

Let it steep....a long time. It will be much improved in a 6-8 weeks, IMO.

Mothers milk is one of my favorites and also sucker punch. You will not be disappointed.Suicide bunny is probably my favorite brand and the rest mentioned are great as well and are reasonably priced to.ruthless vapors have a juice called grape drank and it's awesome. It tastes just like a grape soda.king of the cloud has a great fruit juice called lunar harvest.Space jam has a juice that's called astro and it's very good.any of those brands I have listed above and here are great. I'm actually vaping sucker punch right now in my iclear 30s with my VTR and in a protank 2 aero tank I have lunar harvest and love both of them.
