So Ive been messing around with the steam engine because I started building my own coils (don't worry I have a multimeter and all the right tools).
I just need some clarification with the heat flux on the steam engine. This is the next coil build I want to achieve Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators. So my general question is about the heat flux, do I put the amount of watts my vape is producing in the setting to see how much heat will be flowing from the surface of the coils?

That's what I do.

When I get a Build that Hits really well for a given RBA, I fill in all the Fields for what the Build is. Wire Type/Gauge, Coil Diameter, Number of Loops, Ohms, etc. Then I plug-in what Watts taste the Best and get a Heat Flux Number (HFN).

Then I use that HFN as a Guideline to make Other types of Builds.

With the coils i want to build my vape will produce about 30watts so do i just plug that into the heat flux?

If you are using a Mod where you can Not Adjust the Voltage/Wattage, such as a Mech Mod, then yes, you should enter in the Watt value you Mod is Outputting to get a Heat Flux Number.

If you are using a Variable Wattage (VW) device, then you can enter in Different Wattage numbers to see how it effects the Heat Flux.

Yes you put the amount of watts in.

You basically want the flame icon to be green- that's usually around 200 mW/mm2.
red would be hot, and blue is cold.
