my joye 510 has been hitting like a champ for over a month but just today it started to have problems. it is giving insufficient vapors along with that the battery keeps cutting off mid way through my draw. I have tried both atomizers and both batteries and come up with the same issue.. could this be that i need to clean my atomizers? or is it just wear and tear and theres nothing i can do it about it.. if that is the reason im extremely disappointed because up in till now it has worked great for me.

How long are you taking hits on it? If you're taking draws longer than 10 seconds (I think that's the cut off) then that's why it's happening. I would clean the atty, too. Just give it a soak for about 10-15 minutes in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and let it dry overnight. I clean mine like this once a week or so. I also use my attys in a rotation so they get equal use.

That's very odd indeed. I've been using the same 510 atomizers and batteries since early October.

Are these automatic batteries? I'm wondering if you flooded both batteries to the extent of killing the batts (which can happen with autos).

True that. That's why I don't use automatic batteries. They just aren't worth the "convenience."

About 10 days after we got our Starter Kit, this happened to us too. In *our* case, it was the recharger malfunctioning. We put in an SOS to Rob over at AltSmoke (where we got our kit) and he immediately sent us a free replacement, and we've been good ever since. So, make sure your recharger is working as it should be.

But I will say to try what WomanofHeart suggested. It very well could be the atty's just need a good cleaning, or maybe it's time to replace them. I've switched over to cartomizers now, but I do remember when I was using atty's, one of mine gunked up (I'd forgotten to blow it out after a few days of use) and it did make my battery flash. I never did soak my atty's, I found blowing them out every night until nothing came out of them kept them in good enough shape. But if yours are really gunked up, a good soak in ISO alcohol should work.

Oh, I just thought of a couple other things that have caused my batts to flash when I KNEW they were fully charged...

One is sometimes the THREADS on the atty/carto and battery get gunked up a little. Take a Q-Tip and just run it around inside the female connection and clean out the threads. Use a paper towel or tissue and twist the male connector around in it. You might notice some "black" stuff on the Q-Tip/tissue after doing this.

Another issue I had with a cartomizer. I'm not really sure what happened (if I screwed it on unevenly or what), but I have one carto that causes my battery to flash if I screw it all the way on. But I've found if I screw it on, then UNscrew it just a tiny bit, it works fine.

Are the batteries blinking like they're fully discharged or just cutting off? It could be that the batteries are just not holding a charge for very long, although a month of use shouldn't cause that. I hope you're just planning to soak the atty's not the batteries, or you'll surely have dead batteries.

haha no im not planning on soaking the batteries.. and they are just cutting off .. i can reactivate it as soon as it turns off but it still doesnt produce much vapor when that happens.

Hmm.. Well since the atties and batteries are meant to be considered "disposable" parts, they all have different times at which they go out or die. I could suggest maybe purchasing a couple of extra batteries if you're still fine with your 510, or if you so choose to upgrade, an eGo is the longer lasting 510. So, you also have the option of just buying eGo batteries and/or a kit that way you'd have spare atties and more vaping sessions between charges on the bigger batteries. It's totally up to you.

Since it could be atty or batt or both (not likely), it would be a good idea to get both, worst case scenario is you have extras of whichever part is still good. If you have thought about trying a larger batt, the Riva (good ego clone) is a great price here:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Two batts, two attys, extra charger, extra carts for 29.99. and the attys/carts are compatible with the stuff you already have so can be combined interchangably.

Other possibility is flooded atties.
