Hey guys, I have been vaping for almost 2 and a half years now, using a standard ego. I have yet to upgrade aside from using vision stardusts which I love so far. I am going to move on to probably an ego twist. My question is, what should I use with the twist and how should I go about it as far as tank mods. I see a lot of people using a punched boge cartomizer inside of a tank? Would you recommend this for me? If so how do I do this modification. Is it a specific tank I should use? Specific carto? I am really looking to get into a more satisfying vape with a better flavor experience. I apologize for the bombardment of questions and appreciate anyone taking the time to read this and offer some insight. :)

Most carto tanks are rather large in diameter, but there is something called a slim tank that would look better (not top heavy) on a Twist. I'll give you a link to one vender that sells it.

3ml SLIM Pyrex Glass Tank With Chrome Metal END CAPS!

For the standard eGo, I'd say get around a 2.0 ohm single coil punched carto for it. For the Twist, I'd say get a 3.0 ohm single coil punched carto. Welcome to the 'Tanker's'!!:D

Hi Devin...I'm using the 'twist' & the joye ego 1000 upgrade (these are also very nice). After using the 't' & then the 'c' with attys - I'm now in love with cartos & a tank. I'm using both Boge & Smoketech 1.7 - 2. on them. The tanks I have are the 'submarine' & the 'mini-sub' from ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE / E CIGARETTES STARTER KITS AND E LIQUID NICOTINE FROM MOM AND POP. I'm sure you'll get tons of other favorites from the great folks here, but these do the trick for me. Remember, if you do want a carto in a tank, you're going to need it punched; you'll either have to purchase them that way or get a punch yourself, which I wound up doing. Good luck to you & enjoy!!

Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer

If you're looking to go the economical route, check out the DCT's. Very cheap for a tank and will ease you into the tank world very nicely. If you get the pre-punched dual coil cartomizer you don't have to worry about punching anything. This is what I used when I upgraded to a Twist and was perfect. Since I've gone on to punching my own cartos and more expensive tanks, but I was really glad I learned on the DCT's.

I think this is where I will go to start out, thank you for all of your help, a couple other questions though, with the smoktech skinny tank, would I be able to use a single coil carto? If so, does anyone sell a decent quality single coil carto that is pre-punched and will work with an ego twist? Thanks again!

Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL

I just got a bunch of these cartos from SmokTeck to replace the dual coil ones I had been using. They have one and two hole prepunched in 3 choices of resistances. I ordered some in both single and double holed, the ones I end up using will depend upon the juice thickness. I ordered 2.0 ohm resistance as I have a 3.7v mod. You'd likely want the 3.0 ohm resistance with your Twist if you vape above 3.7v.

I just switched over a few of my tanks last nite with the new single coils. The best tank vaping experience I've had yet. So glad I decided to try these out.

Be sure to get yourself a tank filling tool like the Slap-Yo-Momma tool from Big Daddy Vapor. Makes inserting cartos in your tank easier, saves your 0-rings from the sharp edge of the carto top, and makes filling the tank so much easier. Well worth the long term investment.

Ok, cool, thank you, now will this carto fit into the skinny tank (3.5ml) correctly? Or is it for a specific tank?

The vivi nova mini is now available (gotvapes has them) and is ~15mm in diameter, the same diameter as the DCT -- I have both and prefer the vivi, though the flavor from the DCT is more "intense" -- perhaps because flavor ends up "concentrating" around the coil in the carto. I think I prefer the "cleaner" and somewhat milder flavor of the vivi to the "dirtier" and more intense flavor with the DCT. I've gravitated towards juices with a more intense intrinsic flavor to compensate.

May have to look into those. Thank you, Now on the smoktech 3.5 ml skinny tank, do I use standard carto size, or will I always have to use xl's?

The XL's. The DCT Smoktech tanks are both the same length, ergo the same carto length. They differ only in their diameter, and of course their juice capacity.

Now decide what carto resistance you will use.
