I got one of these from a local shop, during my brief stint with carto-tanks.

It's not designed to come apart completely (i.e. I couldn't figure out how to get it apart without risking breaking it). I think some kind of adhesive was used to attach the pyrex to the end caps.

You can leave the cartridge screwed from your battery, remove the drip tip, pull up slightly on the tank, and fill/top-off from the top. Don't pull the tank completely off the cart, obviously.

I seem to remember getting a few days to a week out of each flanged carto.

Nothing wrong with the flavor or vapor. It's an inexpensive carto-tank and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. :)

Carto longevity depends how how much you vape and what liquid you use. I use unflavored liquid and can run 30-40 mil thru mine...which is about 5-7 days. I don't have the pyrex version, but I have the small plastic version of the udct. It really doesn't hold much...about as much as an Evod (abot 1.5 mil) if you don't count whats in the carto.

Although my very first cartotanks were Smoktech DCT, I'm not really a fan. Smoktech DCT tanks notoriously have poor quality o-rings. To the best of my knowledge, the Smoktech Pyrex U-DCT tank's end caps do not come apart, making cleaning the tanks a PITA. Having said that, the U-DCT Pyrex tank is not a terrible first cartotank to start out with. You could do worse.

A flanged carto is really not necessary if you use a quality pyrex cartotank like an IBTanked, Phiniac, J-tank, or any other decent brand. Theese use better o-rings and don't need a flanged carto to keep the tank from accidentally sliding on the carto.

I use Ikenvape Platinum cartos. IMO they provide better flavor and last a bit longer than Smoktech or Boge cartos. I will use Smoktech single coil carts if I am unable to get the IKV carts. Boge cartos have a denser polyfill which I don't particularly care for for my personal needs in a carto.

Cartomizer longivity is a lot like the replacement coils in a clearomizer. Some will be busts right out of the box, some will last a few days, some will last up to a month. Overall mine last around 2 weeks.

A cartotank will provide better flavor and consistancy than any clearomizer. My :2c:.

Baditude is the ECF cartotank expert in case you're wondering. Check out his blog entries.

I entertained the idea of using a rebuildable, but the idea of screwing things up, and the sheer cost of them is ungodly. That and my cat is super nosy and would not leave me alone at all while priming a carto tank let alone when building something for the very first time. I do want to get a Phiniac tank (Can't really justify an IBTanked when for the same cost I can do the custom glass tank) but I am a bit of a flavor junkie and was looking at these for cheap any juice safe carto tanks. Baditude would you reccommend something better for not much more? Going to use your carto's once mine need swapping.

Rebuildable Atomizers (RBA's) are not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. You can buy an IGO-W drip atomizer for under $20, or an EHPro Kayfun Lite Plus clone tank for under $40.

A years supply of wire is only $8 and a year supply of organic cotton only $4. Compare that to replacement cartos (cartotank) or coil heads (clearomizer) which run $1.50 to $4.00 every ten to twenty days and you'll save money over the course of the year.

Homemade coils can be dry burned between wick changes to extend their life. My current coil in my KFL+ is approximately 7 weeks old. I change my cotton wicks every 3 - 4 days.

You can buy a basic IBTanked pyrex tank for under $25 (glass tube and aluminum endcaps). The cheapest Phiniac tank is $38 for just the glass tube and delrin plastic endcaps; around $56 for the glass tube and metal endcaps upgrade comparable to the IBTanked.

Are you aware that it costs more for the custom work done for either the Phiniac or IBTanked?

IBTanked offers the least expensive, high quality tank that you can buy anywhere. They offer more sizes of tanks than Phiniac, too. I'm not trashing the Phiniac tanks, I own one myself and they are a great tank, just a little pricey. You can buy 2 IBTanked for the price of 1 Phiniac, comparatively.

All right, it seems like you have "Been around the block" could you link me to, in your opinion, the best clone or RBT (By best i mean reliability vs, price, vs good value) and any materials I would need (Ohm tester or anything else) and like.. idk a guide, cause the idea of a rebuildable does... make me pause cause it seems so "Complex" etc. Also how do you even clean a rebuildable?

You'll need a mechanical or regulated mod that uses an 18650 battery. I recommend either of the below dripper or tank for one of these mods.

or

Spooled Kanthal Wire. Your choice of wire gauges. $6. I recommend 28 gauge to start with.

Organic Cotton Balls. @CVS Pharmacy. $4.

Ohm & Voltage Meter $20

Sony VTC5 2500mah 30 amp battery $13. Need two.

Nitecore Intellicharger i2 battery charger. $17

Precision Screwdriver Set. Used to wrap your microcoils.

Metal Tweezer Tools @ Walmart. $10. To compress the loops of your microcoils while you use the torch.

Micro Butane Torch $14. To anneal your wire and microcoils.

Juice Syringe 5 ml. Blunt Needle Tip. Needed to fill a Kayfun-style RBA only.

* You will dry burn your coils between each wick change (every 3 - 4 days). This is merely pulse firing the coils until they glow brightly. Do this until the coils appear clear of dried e-liquid. Coils can last up to 6 - 8 weeks if you do this.

** Steam Engine Online Calculators. http://www.steam-engine.org/ Useful website to determine the amp draw of your coils and how many wraps to use to build a coil to a certain resistance.

I have a Smok PBC V1 and I love it......I got it from Madvapes a little over a week ago and it is just amazing.
It holds 5ml of juice and it has a pyrex insert inside the poly shell. It's a bottom filling, bottom coil (single) tank. This tank is awesome I'm planning on ordering like 5 or 6 more. No messing with cartos, I have not had one leak!
Also, I think that if you take the pyrex insert out, you can fill the poly tank with 6ml of juice!

Here's a pic, good luck!
