Today is my first day trying at no analogs at all, only vaping, and I'm finding it difficult. I used to smoke 8-10 Marlboro Lights a day, and am now using 18mg liquid from Johnson Creek. I had looked up the nicotine content of my Marlboros and done some math and found that the 18mg should do it, but so far it really isn't. It seems like there's something missing. I keep vaping and vaping and there's still that itch in my gut.

Has anyone else here quit Marlboro Lights? What nicotine strength do you find satisfies you?

I should also add, I'm finding that Johnson Creek doesn't give me as much of a throat hit as the stuff that came in my RN4072 carts of the same nic content. So maybe I'm missing the throat hit and not the nicotine, and I just need better liquid...

I have decide not to quit analogs until I receive my high nic liquid. Also receive my analog apc power pack. Waiting also for my SD. I tried to quit one time before and my e-cig wouldn't work right. I think I still am afraid. I got to have everything just right or I may fail again. Would also help if my hubby went on a trip LOL. He smokes alot and won't even try the e-cigs. He is Waiting to see if I can quit analogs with e-cigs. So I want to be successful.

I used to smoke Marlboro lights but switched to a cheap thing I could get at the Native American smoke shop, however I can relate to how you're feeling. At first I did okay except for after dinner and a couple of other "trigger" times through the day. I mean, I didn't get this thing with the intentions of quitting. I got it with the intention of being able to "smoke" in my new car without stinking it up and grab a puff or two in a public restroom when I was going insane and things like that. But my first day, I smoked like 3-4 real cigarettes instead of a pack and a half.

Honestly, what got me over the hump was getting some stronger liquid. We bought puresmoke's 36 mg and diluted it to 18 but kept some of the 36 in reserve. When I felt like I wanted a real cigarette, I went in and dropped two or three drops on my cartridge and that gave me what I needed. I really only did that a handful of times and now I've been smoke-free for over two weeks. Then I ordered some 24 mg. from Jane (the Kick juice) and I've quit using 36 full strength. When I need something more than the standard 18, I'm putting a few drops of this 24 mg. in my cartridge and that's doing the trick. I'm going to try to keep working my way down without pressuring myself if I feel the need for a boost. Right now I figure that "need" beats the heck out of smoking a real cigarette. So, slow going and one step at a time, for sure.

Something else to consider - and I can't find the thread right now, but it's here, is J.C. does NOT "rate" their juice the same. 18mg doesn't mean 18mg/ml like everybody else's.

It's some weird formula of if you smoked 2 carts a day, and it's x number of puffs, then that would be the same as y cigs puffs, which = 18 mg. Maybe not that exactly, but it's something strange. It's definitely less than stated on the bottle, in comparison to the others.

I can attest to that personally, the big bottle of 26mg J.C. I have is way too weak for me to smoke at all, it's like puffing air. and I've TRIED. It's so damn yummy.
18mg "generic" juice kicks it's .... by a long ways, and Cash 24mg is a totally different experience. (and my favorite so far)

I'd guess you just need a different brand of juice to get satisfaction.

Thanks Gabby, that's helpful. I think I am gonna get some stronger liquid. Hopefully all I need is more nicotine, like you did.

RjG, thanks for that info -- I think Cash is gonna be my next experiment. This JC is tasty but just too weak, like you said.

Kate don't take this the wrong way but I really hope you're wrong :) Cause otherwise it means there's no solution except to tough it out.

And rejoice, I wish you luck with quitting :)

24mg cash liquid is what did the trick for me - 18mg just wasn't enough, and I too found myself constantly vaping it in an attempt to receive that satisfying hit. But now, I'm vaping a bit less overall after upping the strength, which to me is a good thing in many ways (wear on parts, cost of liquid, less non-nic substances being inhaled) - and am generally much more satisfied with this stronger nicotine level.

Another point: the first couple days after switching are the hardest. Converting over for good is much easier after that :thumb:

Good luck, equazcion. I can tell you it gets easier everyday. I do feel like I'm cutting down my nic intake though. I have been a bit short-tempered lately. LOL! But in terms of cravings, it's getting better each day. Those first two or three days were the hardest and I just made time to sit and vape all I wanted when I felt like I needed a real cig and after a few minutes that craving would fade. I also kept a few around and eventually those last three, STALE things didn't appeal to me one bit.

That's two votes for 24mg Cash. I think we have a winner.

Only problem is Steve seems to be out of stock on nearly all the Cash items.

When I can find it, do you guys have a flavor suggestion? I hear Riskee is popular. Is that what you use?

Thanks Gabby. PS. For me withdrawal doesn't mean short temper but a complete shutdown of brain function. I become like a lizard person and dangle my tongue out my mouth while watching children's cartoons. Okay maybe not that bad. But I really find it difficult to function or keep thoughts in my head long enough to act on them.

I would say try Riskee and Pure Menthol, most definitely. Those are 2 of his best-selling liquids.

Coffee is nice every now and then as well, more of a treat flavour.

Hello forum,
I am in the process of buying my first ecig. From the days of reading reviews on the board I have finally decided on the DSE901. Hopefully i am not making the wrong decision in purchasing that model. Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what strength carts to buy. For years I have smoked about a pack a day of Parliament Lights. recently I've cut way back by smoking the worst possible thing I could think of in order to make smoking less pleasurable for me "Virgina Slim 120 menthol lights or ultra lights. So for the past several weeks I've been smoking 7-10 of those a day. Reading all your posts has helped but I'm still uncertain which strength to get. Also with regard to buying the liquid I'm kinda lost. I'm assuming when you buy the liquid you need to also buy empty cartridges and fill them up. My question is, is it fairly obvious how to do this or is there some explanation I can reference? Also, is there any notable differnce between the PG and the VG, besides the fact that they are different chemicals (ie is the vapor/smoke the same, do they taste the same, etc)? THanks for all your help guys.

As for using liquid with cartridges: You won't need to buy empty cartridges, as long as when you get your DSE901 you get it as a "starter kit" set, as most places sell them. Those sets come with at least 5 full cartridges. You simply use one of those til it's empty (or almost empty), and then refill it with the liquid. It's very easy to do, you just pull off the cartridge and drip the liquid in.

I can't speak to what strength you need (I'm still figuring that part out myself), but those starter kits come with a variety of strength cartridges (high, medium, low, and zero nicotine), so you can experiment and see.

I don't know much about the differences between PG and VG (I haven't tried VG yet). My impression from this forum though is that VG isn't as widely liked as PG. I've seen quite a few complaints.

I think that the prefilled cartridges are quite different to those filled by yourself and do not tell the whole story of flavour, vapor and strenght. I also believe it is a good idea to buy some empty carts because you cannot use those 5 original ones forever and after you wash them they sort of lose the ability to give you the desired flavour. Look up the thread "Where has the flavor gone?" in this Forum. And you *have* to wash them, not just refill. Imagine doing the same with you coffee cup. How many days you would be happy just to refill it without washing. The liquid from the cart goes to your mouth and lungs, after all. I think empty carts are not very expensive, especially when you buy them with something else, so the shipping is not a factor.

I have a friend who gets extremely mad if you wash his coffee cup.
