Need some advice on the IPV 6X

Hey ECF!

So, I pre-ordered the ipv 6X from GB back in July. I knew it wouldn't be out for a while so I wasn't in a rush. The thing is, now US vendors have begun to get theirs in stock... When I asked GB why they don't have it in stock yet the basically told me that there are diff manufacturers and suppliers and their supplier didn't have a date as to when it would be available. I felt like they were kind of bs'ing me...

This is where I'm seeking your advice! Should I cancel my order with GB and and place an order with a US vendor that has it in stock for about $22USD more? I still don't mind waiting, it's just that I felt GB was jerking my chain. Never had a problem with them before, and just for reference, FT at least has it listed as being ready to ship in 13 days (Aug 30th)

I would have waited and seen if any issues would arise... watch the replies as to how good it really is...

as with the Crown uwell atty... nothing but complaints about leaking poor performance etc...
I waited several months before I bought the IPV5...

This is the first pre-order I have ever done. In all honesty, I trust P4Y for the most part (D2 was no good IMO) But yeah, normally I research the out of any device/topper I buy. Check multiple reviewers and customer reviews, don't know exactly why I bit the bullet and pre ordered...

Still not sure how I feel about GB though...

Some times this happens. They may not be BS'g you. It's just the nature of pre-orders. When I jumped on the Theorem bandwagon, US vendors were shipping before the place I pre-ordered from. In the end I didn't cancel the order- just waited it out & received it *I think* about a week later.

I am in a similar boat as you. I see a few US resellers that have it in stock for 50% more than the Chinese resellers. I am probably going to hold off until I can get one in the $40-$45 range.

I would cancel and wait till some more user reviews surface then order from a US vendor once the prices level off when everyone has stock.

Too many of my Gearbest packages have been lost in SF customs. Maybe 5 out of 50.

I've only had it for about a week, but I'm really enjoying it. I don't usually use TC mode so the Joule adjustments don't bother me. The battery life is great. It's heavy and very ergonomic. I wish the screen was on the other side and I haven't figured out how to flip the display (haven't really tried), but it's climbing the charts as my new favorite regulated device. I really dig the puff counter. lol
