Greetings all,

First off I'd like to thank you for this very helpful forum, I literally would have had no idea where to start without it.

I've been thinking about buying a ecig for a while and finally decided to take the plunge! After reading some reviews my poor impulse control lead me to buy this:

http://www...........co.uk/eGo_TWIST_1000mAh_vision_kit/p705283_7385076.aspx

EDIT: Cant get the link to work. The dots should be safer cigs.

Kit Contents:
1 x eGo Case
1 x 1000mAheGo Twist Joytech battery
2 x Vision ego
1 x USB chargelead

Would one of you lovely people let me know if this is a decent buy? Also does it contain everything I need to get started?

I smoke around 20 per day and I'm buying this to cut down on my night smoking, I read heavily at night and I find myself smoking a great deal when I do so. Not looking to quit and don't care about how it looks, I'm more concerned that it will give me a similar "burn" sensation.

Can you also recommended me a good site for liquids in the UK? I ordered a 30ml from the same site to get me started but going forward I'm looking for something similar to my beloved Benson and hedges!

Thanks in advance, really great forums you have here.

What's the price on that Twist? I understand the Twist is very popular and good quality with good reviews, so it's a good system to start with. It's a much better choice than the v2 I went with. Wish I'd come here first!

That's an excellent starter kit and the price is about right. Not familiar with the UK market to know where the better juice vendors are, but kit-wise you have a solid start and one many of us here wish we had when we first started!

I say this to everyone who starts out, but it goes extra for you as it seems you'll be vaping at a chair at home and not necessarily out and about. The overall best use of your liquid in terms of vapor production, throat hit (or, "burn" as you called it) and flavor will come from dripping into an atomizer (not to mention, far more efficient and economical use of your liquid). Plenty of info here on what it is and how to do it, but essentially you're dropping 3 or 4 drops of liquid directly into an atomizer and vaping that way, instead of using a tank such as the clearomizers that come with your kit. For most, it's inconvenient and is not a "pocketable" solution for when you're on the go. If you find you're vaping at home most of the time, I'd highly recommend it. You will also note that the burn has much to do with the nicotine content of your liquid (higher percentage = more burn). You may want to start with 16 to 18mg if you smoke B&H and them drop the nicotine if it's too much (you'll know if it is). On the clearomizers that come with your kit, there will be a rather muted amount of flavor and throat hit as compared to dripping or other methods of vaping by virtue of how these particular types of atomizers are designed. You won't have anything to compare it to, but if you do choose to get a dripping atomizer (a 510 atomizer by Joye or Vision is a good start along with a drip tip you will use as a mouthpiece) you will find that whatever juice you buy will hit harder than on the clearo. Atomizers are relatively inexpensive (usually in the $7 to $9 range in the States) and you can screw them right onto the ego twist. Pick up what's called an ego cone that finishes the look of the ego when using an atomizer and prevents juice from leaking out of the atomizer and onto the battery in the event that you drop too much liquid (again, it's very inexpensive) and you'll have two great options at your disposal. At the very least, picking up an atomizer or two will serve as an excellent backup should the clearos that come with your kit give you any issues.

All to say that the clearos are not all bad and you should be able to enjoy them with the right juice and the twist will allow you to crank up the voltage for an extra "kick" in flavor/throat hit/vapor. Just know that if the juice you buy doesn't seem to satisfy you as you might have expected, don't look for another juice first. Try a dripping atomizer and you may end up enjoying that bottle better than you'd hoped.

Welcome and good luck!
