Need some help/info on charger my new battery.

Hey all, i recently got a Efest 2000 mAh IMR18650 3.7v LI-MN High drain Rechargeable Battery with a WP2II xtar TWO-SLOT LI-ION CHARGER
When i first hooked up the batter it turned from green to red and i left it on for about 6 hours. I took it off to try it and it didn't work. So, i put it back on and the light is staying green and battery won't charge. Does anyone know what's going on? This is my first setup

Bad battery or faulty charger? Do you have a multi-meter so you can check the voltage of the battery?

Just curious, did you already use the battery in a mod?

And where did you get the battery?

You need a meter to know what is going on here. Assuming you put the battery in the charger correctly - positive toward the LED's - the question that needs to be answered is what voltage is that battery measuring? If for any reason the battery was allowed to drop below 2.0 volts it could take a very long time for your Xtar to recover it. Well over 8 hours. That Xtar can recover an under voltage battery - but it takes a really long time depending on how bad off the battery is.

If that is the red eFest V1 - those are pretty crappy batteries. So the other possibility is you got a bum battery. The V1 is only good up to 5 amps.

You need a meter to check the voltage of the battery.
