Need some help with using atty's

I just got an Ego today, I have been using nothing but cartomizers before. So far the eGo works terrific, I am just having some issues with the atty's and cartridges.

I fill a cart and prime the atty and it works terrific for about 10 minutes and then I start getting a burnt taste. So I checked the cart and the filler is still moist but it doesn't seem to be getting to the atty.

So I tried the method of cutting the filler to about 1/3 it's size and I am still having the same result. Moist filler but burnt taste. I noticed even though I fill the cart with fluid before putting in the small piece of filler that the cart seems empty except for the moist filler.

Are the atty's just burning through liquid super fast or what? Kinda lost here and ready to give up on atty's already.

I have never heard of filling your cart first, then adding filler. Have you blown out your atomizer? Perhaps you have flooded it, and its burning all the extra fluid...

I was having issues with the filler taking very much liquid so someone suggested this method.

The atty is not flooded and it functions fine, it just seem to be burning through liquid at an amazing rate when I vape.

Hmm... Have you tried another atomizer? I use both atomizers and cartomizers... And have a little frustration with both types. Some times an atomizer just doesn't work right. Same with with cartos. 2 out of 5 cartos out of my last box burnt my liquid, and gave me a burnt taste along with the vapors feeling "hot" in my mouth, so I just tossed them and tried another...And success! I have had the same problem with atomizers. Some work great! Some have gotten too hot, others have not heated up enough, and produced no vapor. Its the price we pay for getting addicted to something while its in its infancy.

The only thing that works for me when I have this problem is using a different atomizer. Do you have any spares?

Well everything seems to work fine, it just seems as if they are burning through liquid very fast. I checked in between vapes and it's not pouring down into the atty or anything it just seems to be burning through it super fast.

A full carto will last me 1-2 hours but the same ammount in the atty cart is lasting me like 10-15 minutes.

Oh, I guess I mis understood, I thought you were talking about it actually burning your liquid.

Lol, From what I have read about others experiences, Using any PV that produces alot of vapor (EGO's/MODS) use more liquid. More vapor means its using more juice, So of course you are going through more liquid. Currently I use a normal 510, and juice seems to last a long time. Vapor production is average, but differs depending on what juice I am using. When my EGO arrives, I expect to go through my liquid faster.

Hmmm but it doesn't really produce any more vapor then my 808 pass through, maybe a small amount more then 808's, It is a 3.7v device after all. I mainly bought it for the long battery life. Was just trying to figure out if it was normal to be going through 4x the juice that a carto does.

I have the same problem myself.

All I can think of is that it's something to do with the atty having been flooded prior. I blew mine out and got all the fluid out then i did a few dry burns.

Seemed to work good after that so long as I was using just carts.

Whenever I direct drip I get back to square one in regards to the burnt taste coming up again and again.

Something that does work though, so long as you don't have too much fluid in there is to sort of shake your unit a bit, like downward so some juice gets on the atty.

If you do this before you hit you're usually guaranteed to get a clean hit without that burnt taste so long as there's enough fluid in there and you're not dry burnin'.

If you do this with a lot of fluid though you'll def flood it out.

It's a fine line, I'm still tryin' to figure it out myself, but that's my 2cents.
