Hello all! I am looking for a good starting point for a good friend that still smokes. Which {non rebuildable} tank system works best and what would be a good VW box to go with it? I make my own mods and rebuild RBA's so I am kind of lost as far as tanks with replaceable coils for him to start with. I am pretty sure he does not need 50W or anything ridiculous; just decent power with a built in charger and a good performing tank that looks good up there. Thanks in advance. :)

{I am thinking I-stick with Nautilus mini but I would be guessing}

Hi, Johnny!

Not sure if it's available yet, but the iStick 30w seems to be better than the iStick 20w (the original)

But the iStick is a really good deal. More than enough power, can pass-thru charge while vaping and it easily lasts more than one day of my heavy use.

For tanks, I do like the BVC coils, but not the nautilus so much. The naughty mini is so small at 2ml, and both are hard to unscrew and break if you drop them.

I really like the Beyond Vape Silo Lite. It can use the aspire bvc coil (not the naughty bvc), it's tougher and only $15.
Beyond Vape Silo Lite Tank Kit with BVC [bv-silo-lit-tan-kit] - $15.00 : Beyond Vape, Premium Vaporizers and E-Cigarettes

And the same coils fit a lot of other tanks, from the smaller CE5-S

to my current fav, the vivi nova S Glass, cause they are under $7

Now the mvp has a lot of fans, too, but I like how the iStick fits in my hand.

Best of luck, my friend.

Most that I've talked to love the iStick and nauti mini (myself included!) for on the go ease of use. I drip at home too...LOOOOVVEEE MY Magma!!!

The iStick 30W is available and the iStick 50W will be out in a week or so, advantage of the 50...it's 4400mAh with twin built in 18650s (non replaceable) bit it's reported to be set to run RMS or possible straight DC (ya get what ya set it at) vs the iStick 20W which is Mean and runs a bit hotter (volts or watts) than you ask for...doesn't down-regulate.

I'd show them this site ;)

You searched for IStick - Best Vape Deals - E-Cig deals, Vaping Supplies, & Discount Coupons

ETA....I still wanna send you my Magma to mill out!!! ;)

I personally wish I had skipped a couple of steps at started out with the mvp2. I honestly think the mvp V3.0 coming out soon looks pretty interesting

I'll add the Kangertech Genitanks in there along with all these other stellar choices. I've found them to be every bit as good a vape as Aspire's offerings at a significant cost savings. That they're more durable and much better looking is a bonus.

But honestly, I don't think your friend would regret any of the items these folks list. Great choices all.

Hey I'm curious...how is the airflow on that Silo mini? I know it's adjustable but is it a sufficiently airy draw?

I'm a new vaper as of a week+ ago. Maybe my input will hold some value for that reason but I obviously don't have enough experience to recognize the short comings of my choices.

I started with the Joyetech Ecab and not long after I picked up the newly released Ego One. I like both for different reasons though the Ego One is certainly my favorite. It has the contained battery with USB charging, replaceable atomizer heads, and it holds 2.5 ml of e-juice as it's the XL version. My hands are big but I find it's a good size as only the tank and mouth piece protrude if I wrap my hand around it. Also it has the adjustable airflow. Choice of 1 ohm or 0.5 ohm atomizer head and comes with 2 different mouth pieces which offer varied tightness to the draw.

I am incredibly naive in vaping knowledge but have found my latest choice to meet if not exceed expectation. Being such a newly released device there probably isn't enough long term information to tell if it is going to have unforseen issues though.

Good luck

Gonna have to give another shout out to the nautilus mini. Of everything out there I do believe the nautilus is going to provide the best flavor experience for somebody looking for a "plug-and-play" if you will. As for the mod you definitely can't go wrong with an istick..However I would personally wait and get the 30w version (if it isn't out already) so in the future if your buddy ever wants to upgrade to the bigger sub ohm devices, then he won't have to spend quite as much money to do so.

I would favor pairing one of the new iStick 30s with the Kanger Subtank Mini over the Nautilus. It can be run at higher wattage than the Nautilus so should outproduce the Nautilus in vapor and flavor should be as good or better. The Subtank Mini comes with prebuilt heads that a beginner needs but also includes a rebuildable deck should your friend ever want to advance and go that route.

There have been a number of favorable Kanger Subtank Mini reviews including this one from Phil Busardo.

How is the subtank for mouth-to-lung hitters peraspera? I know the Atlantis is a lung hitter's delight and I was under the impression the Subtanks were akin to the Atlantis in that they're extremely airy, sub-ohm lung hitters.

Boomer - Phil was doing mouth-to-lung hits in his review. He said the Subtank is not quite as airy as the Atlantis. The adjustable air flow combined with VW should allow a beginner a pretty wide choice in what type of vape is produced. I'm a big fan of keeping things as flexible as possible for beginners so they can easily dial in a preferred vape without having to try a bunch of different gear.

My recommendation (after a year of trying a lot of different equipment) is the full size Nautilus BVC and an MVP x (I have v2). They are both worry free and lower cost units. And pretty hardcore for a new vapor to use. Minimal investment and hassle free - not top of the line but that's not what you need to quit.

This set up has helped a few of my friends quit smoking on the first try.

Wow U guys are burying me with choices, LOL. Since I jumped from Halo Tritons right to RBAs/RDAs over a year ago, I am oblivious to all this new stuff. I was not aware of all the great "ready to run" stuff that is available. I am impressed! :vapor:

THAT's where I met you....I couldn't remember how I knew you!

My WALLET wishes I would've just fully jumped across that chasm too!!! :lol:

Sorry, it is not adjustable. It does come with 2 drip tips, but they change flavor by concentrating it on the "choked" one. But I don't feel a difference with draw. I think the draw is about equal to the naughty mini on the third largest hole (one from the largest). It feels right, but I wouldn't call it very airy. I guess you could drill out the 2 side air ports.

Regardless, it's a better tank than the naughy mini. It takes a BVC coil, so flavor and vapor are superb. It's not fragile at all, holds 50% more juice, no "unscrewing" issues and it's better looking, imho. And at least $10 less expensive than the naughty.

:)

I started with the mvp 2 and a nautilus mini, despite outgrowing it and wanting more about two months after the fact, it's an awesome setup. I loved the feel of the istick, but I think due to the chip in it, it might be a little rough for someone just starting, the mvp definitely feels more controlled and less brutal.
