ok let me start off by saying the protank has shined yesterday and i love the feeling. it has taken awhile but i finally built a good coil. however it didnt last long. it was good for 1 solid tank fill. once i tried to refill it, it would no longer give me a good taste like the others i build. i have built a lot of coils on this thing i cant seem to get the burnt taste to not come back. i really dont think its a wicking problem. when i pull the air chamber post off the wick is very saturated yet i still get a burnt taste. someone mentioned to me it could be a hot leg burning the rubber gromet at the bottom. how can i stop this? is this even the issue?
i am using 32g kanthal and 3mm silica wick. i have tried cotton and it makes things worse for some reason. what i am i doing wrong? i am trying to wrap the coil as close as possible without touching usually 5-6 wraps a round. 1.8-2.0ohms i am getting which is fine. is something touching when i put it all together? i really need to get this working properly for more then a day. i am lost. i know it has to be something i am doing wrong because that 1 coil worked amazing, but suddenly stopped working well. like i said i dont think its a wicking issue. i do not use any top wicks i just the silica 3mm wick the coil is wrapped around.
any help at all.
