There is a vast amount of information on this forum. I suggest a lot of reading of the various threads. Find Hoosier's and Danny45's blogs for a good fundamental start. The stickys at the top of this forum tell us a lot, too.

This is about the best forum I have ever seen. More true information and less "crap" than the normal...

Enjoy our new hobby!

The only good answer is your taste buds. Make several small batches of different percentages and label them.
10 to 20% is the normal range of flavoring to add to your nic/pg/vg.
Sweetener is usually pretty potent. What did the people you bought it from suggest?

Fruity flavorings usually don't need much steeping.

I completely agree with 'rowdyplace'. Also on the sweetener, which seems widely disagreed on, an option I've liked has been cotton candy flavoring. I've read some others on here using a small percentage of that flavoring to help sweeten a mix also.

I don't know what made me choose strawberry. I guess because it's such a "normal" taste that most people recognize. :)

Cherry is another tough flavor, just don't taste right to me.

They smell good, and taste good, but vape like a strange fruit from a different planet to me.
But, as I said, some ppl like em'.

I like TFA Blueberry Wild, Orange Cream, Lemon, Key Lime, and Pineapple so far.
And mixers like FA Fresh Cream, FA Vienna Cream, FA Vanilla Tahiti, TFA Vanilla Swirl, and TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust.
And Caps Vanilla Custard v1 and v2, Caps NY Cheesecake.
So many choices is daunting at first, well it still is i suppose.

Cotton candy is the same as ethyl maltol. In small quantities, it can act as a sweetener, but it can also be used to mute potent mixes. Unfortunately, that means that it can mute the flavors in any mix.

Before adding any sweetener, I suggest trying it without. Once you get a percentage baseline you like for the strawberry, then play around with additions like sweeteners.

I steep my strawberry single flavor juice for a week. It really helps it. I have found that most citrus types are good right away. Here are 3 recipes...

Strawberry: 15% Capella sweet strawberry. Sweetener if you think it needs it after steeping.

Strawberry cheesecake: 10% Capella NY cheesecake, 5% Capella sweet strawberry. Steep for a week or longer if you can keep from vaping it all up!

Cherry: 15% Watkins cherry extract. This too needs to steep about a week to get good. Sweeten as you need to.

Definitely use the ejuicemeup calculator. It is the best one out right now. I have tried some of the apps and they turn out vastly different on the percentages then ejuicemeup. As far as sweeteners go I would suggest against using it when just starting out. Many of them taste good in the beginning but destroy the flavor down the road. And as to what percentage you use on flavourings...? That depends on which company makes your flavourings. And of course you also adjust it depending on what tastes right. :D

Should I just start making different flavors and let them start steeping. And should I just make them without nicotine.
Also. What's a good cheap device to test the flavors with (tanks, drippers, etc) I've got an ego twist battery with tanks. Do I need a new tank for each flavor?

I mix up quite a few at a time, and start them steeping.
Some don't need to steep, but may get even better over time.

Blueberry Cheesecake, TFA Blueberry Wild 10%, CAP NY Cheesecake 5%, shake & vape.
Orange Cheesecake, TFA Orange Cream 12%, CAP NY Cheesecake 5%, shake & vape.

Set the bottles in some hot water for awhile to help them mix.

If you make them without nic, a cheap device for testing is your finger, a drop, taste, (Make small amounts, 5ml).
Usually if they taste good, they vape good, notice I said "usually".
I was using an Igo-L dripper before, but I wanna test them in what I vape daily, as they taste is so different in a dripper.
Just fill your tank, try it, then empty back into bottle if it needs more work, or time.
Rinse tank/head in water, then refill, will take a few pulls to get rid of the water, and get the next flavor going.
