Hi! Last week, my friend have me a vision spinner 2 with an aspire k1 tank and I love it! I'd never vaped before she gave me this and so I've been excited to learn more about vaping.
Yesterday, I bought my husband an Ipow 2 with an aspire k1 tank. Is a very nice battery, but it just doesn't seem to hit as well as my vision spinner 2. It's weaker, if that makes sense. I'm curious if we should go back and purchase another tank--if maybe it needs more ohms? All this is so confusing to me as I've literally been vaping <1 week.
Please, any insight would be helpful. :)

Welcome @cbear87

These batteries (Spinner, iPow, iTasteVV, CLK) all have different maximum amp ratings.

The amount of power your battery provides to your atomizer will affect the vapor. You can compare different tanks easily on a 'mod' battery that doesn't limit power, but it's not easy on these types. You will get a different vape, even with seemingly similar batteries.

In *theory* the iPow should hit better than the Spinner 2 as you go up the settings.

The best I can suggest is using an online calculator to work out the watts (using the ohms on the atomizer and voltage on the Spinner) and then set the iPow to the same watt setting.

Buy an iStick 30 or 40TC. Then you'll have all the power you need, at least for starters. The coil makes a difference. Lower values make more and warmer vapor, and will tolerate higher watts. Coils are wear parts, so remove one and check the markings, then get some spares.

I agree 1000%.

Don't worry about starter kits because most of them are underpowered.

Start with a good mod that can fire 40-60 watts and they won't have to buy another mod a month later when their style of Vaping changes.

Sorry someone just off the Stinkies; I think the perfect starter kit would be

mod Istick 30, istick40tc, or Innokin Coolfire4

Tank Nautilus Mini.

I recommend that because the mod will serve the Vaper for quite a while, and the Nautilus Mini does a good job emulating the mouth to lung inhale.

When they are ready for sub ohming they can upgrade their tank

So for whatever reason, the Ipow 2 has magically seemed to start working better. There are definitely things I like better about it than the vision spinner and visa versa.
I doubt I'll have the funds anytime soon for an upgrade or a new battery, but I imagine my vision spinner will be replaced come tax return time. What would be the benefits of eventually upgrading to a mod (like a box)?

Hello and welcome to the forum @cbear87. Glad to have you here!:)
Hi! Last week, my friend have me a vision spinner 2 with an aspire k1 tank and I love it! I'd never vaped before she gave me this and so I've been excited to learn more about vaping.
If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

The best benefit is VFM (value for money) and reliability, battery life, plus more power/control.

I can't speak for the US, but in the UK a Spinner is almost as much as an iStick... and for a few $ more, you can get a quality box with independent batteries too.

The price war is raging, and I mean hot & insane. No joke, a mod I ordered yesterday looks bad value this morning as the next round of products and price drops comes through the jungle drums (the forums).

The benefits are more power, flexibility and control. Plus, if you buy a removable battery mod, you don't have to buy a new one when the battery goes (and they do.) Look at a Cloupor Mini and a Sigelei Mini Book, and an Evic VTC and a Kanger Subox. I think you will be surprised how much removable battery mod you can buy for mighty little more than a spinner. There is the expense of batteries and a charger, but the charger is only once and batteries are cheaper than fixed battery equipments.
