I just got a hcigar one from here:

HCIGAR Nemesis Mechanical Mod - Grey Haze ECig Store

waiting for my kayfun from FT :)

I only have a V3 and MVP2 so I'm buying my batts, charger and kick over the next week or two, should have everything together by the time my kayfun gets here....

....eagerly waiting :)

Thanks. After handling it, do you rate it?

For charger and batts I used Cloud 9 - a Pila charger and AW IMR's, and can recommend them both. I got my Kfl+ a week or so back and am blown away with it.

So far it has only been admired, hopefully batteries/charger will be ordered tomorrow :)

The threads are quite fine but smooth, a little squeak on the middle section but not catching. It's heavier than I expected, definitely feels solid. Very nice looking, engravings are neat and quite dark. All sections fit together perfectly. Top and bottom caps are well made and the overall finish is nice. Based on quality I would definitely recommend, based on performance, I can't wait to find out!

I've ordered the magnets but I'm going to try it as is first, I will have a better idea of the button press once it's set up.

I've got the xtar VP1 in my basket on vape escape, along with the evolv kick2. I'm still undecided on batteries?

AW IMR
NCR18650PF
US18650VTC4

The kayfun will be my first coil build and the hcigar nemesis is my first mech so I've been doing my homework this week :D

I've read a few probs getting the kick and batteries to fit so I'm still trying to find if button top or flat top will be the best, although I picked the nemesis because the kick should fit in all size options. (Any opinion on this)?

Thanks for your review. very helpful.:)

Regarding the kick fitting well, it may be that the centre pin in the top cap is adjustable to take up any difference between the Kick+battery vs the the tube length. I haven't got one (yet) but it might be the solution. I've read that the nemesis comes with a 'kick ring' too, but I'm note enirely sure excatly what that is and how it might work.

Battery wise, I went with AW's purely because my first mod was/is a Provari and everything I've read, for example on Provape's website, suggested that the AW's would be a good bet. Very pleased with my 18490's. They last me about a day, and I vape about 3ml of juice daily. Charging takes roughly 2 hours.

The KFL+, for me at least is light years ahead of the clearo's I'd been using. I found that coiling it is pretty straightforward. Getting the wick right, for me anyway, has been the tricky bit. Using cotton, I've learnt that generally less is more. Too much and I've choked the coil of juice, and dry hits with a cotton wick is not pleasant.

Glad your enjoying your kfl+ :) My 3.1 has not shipped yet (should be the middle of next week). Ordered the nano kit too, along with 7 pack spare coloured windows and 10 pack magnets.

What coil have you got set up? I'm going to try a micro with 30g, wrapped on a little screwdriver (1.4mm ID). 8 wraps should give me 1.8ohm, figured it would be a decent start (any advice)? Grabbed some silica and ecowool but might just go with the cotton balls...all sounds good in theory :-/

I've ordered the AW IMR :) Read a thread on here last week with someone having trouble using the kick with flat tops (too short with kick ring, too long without).

Yup, kick ring is included. Basically a small ring to add extra length in the battery tube, obviously needs removing if you don't use the kick.

Will order my kick next week....just need to find a ohms meter, will check out cloud9 :)

Ok as for the kick2 kick ring and such. The kick/beauty ring is only really usable in most cases with a fuse which is not necessary with a Kick. Now for 18350 with a kick, you use the 18500 tube extension (shortest tube) with the kick installed. For 18500 use the 18650 tube with the kick installed and for the 18650 use the 18500 tube. Now the kick/beauty ring works sometimes depending on the battery used (button top or flat top) and not all brands are the same length exactly, so might be usable. One way though is to get the silver pin upgrade from Fatdaddyvapes and you can always have the beauty ring installed.

Well, I've just placed my order with Grey Haze for the Hcigar Neme clone. Thanks for the advice. Next on the list is the kick2.

Since I've had my Kayfun I've done two coil builds and several re-wicks. The first one I did was 30awg at about 1.5mm diameter, and it came in around 1.9 Ohms. I forget how many wraps I did on that one. Wicked it with cotton wool and ended up with a nasty burnt cotton taste, and not much flavour. Soon discovered that too much cotton wool chokes the flow of juice, yielding poor results. A couple of re-wicks later……much better.

Second build was using 28awg on a larger 2.2 diameter drill bit. Wow, what an improvement. I think because there is more surface area of coil due to the thicker gauge wire at the same resistance more vapour and flavour is produced, and the larger diameter coil allowed a little more cotton wool to be fed through the coil without it being tight. Really, really great taste and vapour.

I did buy loads of ekowool. Discovered it's extremely tricky to thread through a pre-wound coil, even if the coil is a larger diameter than the ekowool. Ultimately gave up, and went with cotton wool which is much easier to thread.

For the Ohm meter, I got a Sigelei 'Ohm-meter'. It's handy for building on too, as once the atty is screwed in it provides a stable base to work on your coil, which is a big plus. About £13

I got a mini drill bit set as well, with diameters ranging between 0.8 and 3mm…….so I can experiment with lots of coil diameters later. B&Q for that one. About £8

Ah, I see how that works now. Some experimentation required once I've acquired a Kick.
