I'm about to buy my first mod and I've decided on the Nemesis. I've heard it runs great with button top but are button top necessary or can I use flat top as well. I really just don't want battery rattle inside the mod and if I have to buy button top I would prefer that than to have to find out the hard way. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You CAN use flat tops, but every person I've ever heard complaining about crunchy buttons and misfires on the Nemesis was using flat tops.

Personally I would say get button tops. They fit right. Nice and snug, and everything works flawlessly with them. No crunchy buttons, no misfires, 100% reliable.

If you need a high quality, high amp, 18650 button top battery then I suggest the Orbtronic SX30. 30A high drain IMR hybrid battery. Works fantastic for anything you want to use it for. Throw virtually any coil build you want at it and it can take it. I don't think there is a better 30A button top IMR on the market.

I use the Sony vtc4s which are flat top and they fit perfectly. No battery rattle what so ever.

Just crunchy buttons, misfires, and button pins unscrewing.

I can show you more than 2 dozen threads with people complaining about the button crunching on the Nemesis. Every single one is using flat top batteries.

Never had a misfire on mine. Used to have a crunch button but I upgraded to magnets and it used to have the problem with the pin unscrewing but I also fixed that with a time dab of blue loctite. Works great now.
Granted it did need some work to get it running fine, but those issues were happening regardless if it was a flat or button top battery, although at a faster rate with flat tops.

Um, whether its a button top or flat top battery has nothing to do with the switch. And you are best off using a 30 or 35 amp flat top battery, more useable power. The issue of the switch is in the clones, there is a small spring inside the larger spring that sometimes gets caught in the switch spring. Easy fix, remove the small spring, tis not needed. Best fix, get the magnet upgrade. Being as the switch screws into the bottom of the tube, and the derlin makes contact with the bottom of the battery, the top never comes into play.

The button contact pin should be screwed tightly into the housing. Many thinks it's adjustable, it is not! Most neglect to remove the kick beauty ring and not use an extended center pin. If assembled correctly, either button or flat top will fit securely in the Nemi. They just don't make high amp button tops. Sony VTC's & Efest Purple is what I use in my Nemi and other Mechs. Great batteries.

I only use AW IMR batteries (I trust them), and AW IMR's only come as button top. So I've never run into any issue of battery fit. ... Just sayin' ...

All 6 of these use the same AW IMR 18490 battery (16 amp). That really cuts down on the battery lagistics.

Well... All I can say is that I've had my Nemesis for a while now. I've been using that same generic blue Dishy flat top 18650 that seemingly everyone gets with a new clone if it comes in a nice appetizing "ready to vape" package deal (Mod, battery, charger...maybe an atty)...

Anyway, the button on the clone is gonna be "crunchy" at some point. As far as the pin and or the contact on the button, I've seen people have problems with this because of, a lot of times, the same reason... I see a lot of people adjust the 510 pin and the pin on the button... Leave the button alone. I had a problem with the button for all of two days... The first two. All I did was disassembled the button and reassembled it, snugly...(after losing the little rice pin 3 times lol)...I just check it every couple days and oddly its not because I have to... It's never loose when I check it.

I use flat tops with no rattle. The Nemesis switch adjusts to stop that. As for switch crunch the magnetic switch upgrade stops that no matter what the battery.
