Nemsis 1.0ohm...aqua atomiser

Ok, So I made a 1.0ohm coil for my nemesis exactly like this guy..

Im currently at work and built the coil at lunch. I take it I need to use a kick (which i left at home) because its literally turning my cotton into a mini log burner! Using a freshly charged Efast 18350?

Had a quick look. Doesn't look like its burnt. Do you need to burn in the Kanthal? Taste really harsh and metallic

With a harsh and metallic taste my guess is that you have a hotspot. Make sure your coil is glowing evenly.

aqua atomiser, Nemesis clone. Seems ok now think the Kanthal needed burning in. In future ill Burn it up loads before I install the cotton.

I "anneal" (heat to glowing red) the whole length of wire that I'm going to wrap the coil with before I wrap it. If I don't I get a nasty taste.

Best to test fire the coil to be sure that it glows even and that the leads don't glow as well. After that, apply enough cotton to cover all parts of the coil evenly. The wick needs to be loose enough to pull out and have even coverage of the coil. If it is too tight, it will taste burnt and/or have other funny tastes and poor vapor production. If it is too loose, you will have hot spots that will cause a nasty taste as well. The way you describe, it sounds like a hot spot due to either not enough wick or the wick being too loose inside the coil.

The issues has gone away inspected the coil and the cotton is not burnt. When I fitted the coil I fired them up till they glowed red once I check the resistance and all looked good. First time Ive built a coil on the Aqua. Could it be becasue it was fresh Kanthal and just need to burn up a bit?

Yes it's very possible. I've had coils do that before. 10-15 hits and the bad taste is gone.
