For those that use extracted tobaccos, what wick & coil works best? I find that no matter what I do, I can't get much more than 5 ml out of a build before dry burn + re-wick or just throw away and rebuild because its easier than cleaning.

I've tried a few combinations, mostly in a tugboat v2. Standard/spaced coils go a little longer than micro (contact) coils. The latter seems to just pan-fry the gunk buildup, causing them to foul faster. I've tried between 24 and 28 guage, no real difference, though the 28 guage lasts longer when used for micro coils. This is probably due to less radiant heat (mentioned on other threads) and faster cool-down than thicker wire.

I use some variant of Japanese organic cotton pads (Cotton Labo is what its called) for wick.

Thoughts?

Silica is the easiest to keep clean...... I use plain old cotton balls and spaced coils. I change the cotton every 2-20ml, depending on which NET juice I am using at the time and coils only when I damage them. Some NETs are more gunky than others.... I find, the sweeter or darker the juice the faster and heavier the gunking.

Thanks, I've had similar experience, though I haven't found anything that will go 20ml except HHV.

I've found that after a dry burn, the gunk returns faster, so most of the time I'll dry burn once or twice, then toss them.

Yeah everybody will have slightly varying results. There is no perfect coil or perfect juice. Mainly because there is no one way to vape or make juice. Which is a good thing.
Note I vape at much lower power than you and in a RTA. I haven't gotten any HHV yet, I don't like sweet vapes and all the reviews are that they are the sweetest. I like N.E.T.com and MVJ. I prefer NETcom, but can only get 2m-4ml before gunk starts building. The MVJ juice I have tried has been alot cleaner.

There are some HHV juices that are on the dry side , Pirate's Booty & Gaia come to mind , Huntsman and Dark Horse are about midway as far as sweetness is concerned .

what kind of NETs are you using?? I find that DIYNETs that are steeped in VG/PG produce some really gunky juices... PGA steeped tobaccos produce a cleaner NET but still can gunk up a coil but not as quickly... there are a couple of companies that make NETS that burn cleaner... HHV is one of them...

    Max/100%VG from MVJ and NET.com
Also HHV, but they are cleaner as you say.
