I realized I didn't officially say thank you to all the people here that have helped to support me this past month.
As many of you know, my mother passed away suddenly at 44, on November 14th. My world froze and then shattered into a million pieces. And what could I do but watch them all float away into the abyss?
No, I had friends. And each of you, each family member, my husband, and all my in-laws went and retrieved the pieces for me, brought me back to sanity.
As some of you don't know, my father got a 3-day eviction notice, issued the day before my mothers funeral. Can you image the stress that phone call would bring? My husband is not that big a fan of my father, and I knew that he would have to stay with us.
Dealing with everything at once would have been a lot more difficult without the support of you guys.
A handful of you came together to buy me a beautiful plant. Thank you. It is a tribute to my mom now, it sits on my desk next to my favorite picture of her. It brightens my days and my office.
Lynleestar sent me the most uplifting care package. Complete with dove chocolates, that carried a note of love in each piece. I saved all the wrappers. She sent a glowing angel ornament, which also sits aside my moms picture, and illuminates my workspace into the wee hours of the night. Thank you Lynleestar, you touched my heart.
Biancamontgomery, PM2006, Lilacs212too, UntamedRose, Sensay, Tuck, Leannebug... You guys are my rocks. You always have a soothing word and a comforting shoulder. A couple of you *cough*PIFMODS*cough* usually just come locked & loaded with a sarcastic remark, but it always brightens my day, and you guys.. all of you really helped me through this last month, your advise, your wisdom, and just listening.. I don't know what I would have done without you and I just want the entire world to know that you guys are freaking rockstars.
Missy and Bob.. You know you guys are the parents I wish I had. And you've stepped up to that roll and treated me with love and compassion from day one. I always know you are but a phone call away and although I don't abuse that privilege a whole lot, it is comforting to know that it exists.
Cyia, Chris... Thank you for donating your time and compassion to draw me two beautiful pictures (which are both framed now) in memory of my mom. You asked for nothing in return, but to me you deserve the world.
The entire PIF group is held dear in my heart, especially over the past couple months. You guys are ALL amazing souls. I am so proud to call myself a part of this group.
So thank you. To everyone.
Edited to add a special thanks to PowerOfParanoia who sent me a PM as soon as he heard of the news about my mom. There's something truly touching and somewhat magical about hearing the words, "We love and care about you" from someone you've never corresponded with. It shows a level of compassion much too rare in todays society. I love and care about you, too POP.
