Is this a bad idea? The health effects don't seem to be too bad. How rewarding is it compared to the buzz from a single alcoholic drink of a energy drink?

I agree with the above poster. Why would you even consider inhaling anything if you aren't addicted to nicotine already? Do what you want, but you're making an epic mistake. EPIC!

Why would you want to do that? There is no buzz. Smoking (or) vaping feeds an addiction. An addiction without a buzz.vaping is the lesser of the two evils. As far as safer.Who knows? I just know I'm not contaminating those around me. All that I am blowing out after drawing in is water vapor. The bad stuff (nicotine) stays with me.I wouldn't want to pick up either habit. It's lifelong and dangerous.

Dude, take it from the rest of us. If you don't already smoke. Don't take up this habit. If you really want to do it just to look cool, then get an e-cig and a juice with zero mg of nicotine. We use these as a safer alternative, but don't start smoking e-cigs or real ones either. It will cost you a boat load of money and cause all sorts of bad side effects to your health.

I have to say that this is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard....Most of us here, are using ecigs to "feed" the addiction that we wish we didn't have. I plan to wean myself off nicotine using the ecig, and I just hope it works! DON'T DO IT!

The "cool factor" is now nonexistant...It doesn't look cool anymore...

I'm not aware of any bad side effects of using e-cigs. Nicotine is a misunderstood drug which is about about as harmful as a cup of coffee. Yes, it's addictive, but it's also beneficial in that it enhances things like memory and concentration, and is a great way to calm down and relax and cope with stress. It is not known to contribute to any disease. If someone wants to try it, I say go for it.

Sharon, I think probably for you and myself the cool factor is in fact over. However, there are many teenagers who still do think it looks cool. Hindsight is 20/20. If this kid is going to start up, at least him smoking an e-cig with a 0mg juice would allow him to stop it later once he's figured out some things.

This is the equivalent of a non-smoker asking if he or she should start using nicotine gum, or the patch. It doesn't make sense.

If there is any pleasure or buzz to nicotine, it is short lived. Once you become addicted to nicotine, you need it just to feel normal.

The answer to your first question is a definitive YES. It is a bad idea.
