There's one interesting phenomenon with mixing drinking with vaping that no one's mentioned yet in this thread.

As you gain more experience with vaping, you'll discover that some e-liquid flavors actually create a synergy with beer/wine/booze flavors. This synergistic effect is completely different from the "smoke goes with" effect of mixing tobacco smoke with alcohol.

Here's an example. I've discovered that, for me, a lime/menthol e-liquid (TopVapes' Key lime freeze in particular) synergizes magnificently with a good, single-barrel rum taken neat. The rum brings out the complexity of the Key lime component of the e-liquid, and the Key lime plus menthol components highlight both the caskiness and all the subtle underflavors of the rum.

Here's another (if you DIY). I made up an e-liquid concoction consisting of dark chocolate with a hint of menthol. On the face of it, this sounds kinda disgusting, and the e-liquid is somewhat *blech* by itself. (I was trying to make something resembling the late, lamented Marshall Fields' Frango Mint flavor.) But couple that e-liquid with a cheap, Central Valley (usually bearing the DOC "California") Cabernet sauvignon wine, and the combination is just magical.

If I weren't off the analogs, I'd have to say I prefer vaping to smoking when drinking adult beverages.

Now you did it....LOL....I have a chart on the fridge that shows which wine goes best with what meats....now I'll have to make a new chart with particular Juice that goes with what drinks.....sheese! :)

I've got a juice I vape when drinking. It's the only time I think it's any good. I made it by accident. I mixed up some beer flavored juice. I tested it & it wasn't strong enough in the flavor department, do I thought I'd add more flavor, so I added more flavor. Well, DummyMe (hence my handle!) I picked up Pear instead of Beer, the rest is history. But, when I'm drinking it tastes kinda good. I just added some sweetner in it & it ain't bad. Trouble is, I've still got 5 out of 6 ml that I made 4 months ago. I gotta go drinkin' more. Pear-Beer Juice not recommended unless you're drunk.

Thanks for the tips all. I think I am going to try a higher mg like 24, and a juice with more kick. The biggest problem seems to be the throat hit not registering. Perhaps related to diminished taste when drinking beer.

I've also been noticing that when out in the cold air (and while driving), the vapor seems far less intense. At home a casual draw does the trick. While driving and especially while at the "smoker" party on Friday, I thought I was gonna bust a blood vessel huffing on the Vmod XL!

The cold air thing makes sense, but not the driving. And yes I have a heater in my Jeep :)

Vaping and drinking is better than smoking...I was doing last night! Bars in Ohio don't allow smoking so you have to go outside...where it's 19 degrees. I sat with my e-cig in the warmth and vaped for about 2 hours straight sitting with 3 friends that don't smoke watching the Packers game.

Instead of them coughing and hating me we were taking funny pictures with my PCC passing it around the table.

I looked over at the next table and there was an older couple sitting there and the wife was vaping too!

Like I said we sat there for 2 hours and I heard at least 10 complaints from smokers that had to go outside that it was too cold to smoke haha.

I use higher mg of nic in the morning, after big meals, when drinking and if I've gone a while without vaping.

I still use analogs at times, but I have found that the higher nic levels make it easier to get over the tougher times of switching to vaping.

I have also just today got my new e-cig, a KSK VV passthrough, a big step forward from the 510 I was using. With this new toy I think I will finally get off the analogs. There is a big difference in TH & I'm actually getting light headed from the nic with this one. It's kinda weird, but in a very nice way. :vapor:

This is my advice, from reading this forum for the last 30 months, and as someone who used to LOVE smoking while drinking...

First of all, drinking seems to numb something, which can reduce throat hit for some people.
Drinking also seems to reduce tolerance to nicotine for some people as well.

If either of these are issues for you, then higher strength juice might help resolve both issues while drinking.

Also, a LOT of people find that tobacco flavors are better at satisfying the urge for a smoke while drinking.
Some people who don't even use tobacco flavors usually, keep some around for when they are drinking.
And I personally have found that I generally don't want anything BUT tobacco flavors while drinking.

So while you may not have any problem at all, if you do, these are my suggestions...
--Higher nicotine strength when drinking
--Tobacco flavors when drinking

Either or both may or may not be needed.
:)

Tried this the other night.....had beers....beer more than wine always tasted better with tobacco (for me)....so, vaped away...all night..thing didn't leave my hand it seems.
I'd like to qualify my previous post after reading this...

The tobacco flavor thing seems to apply more to those drinking beer.
The flavors you might want for drinking probably does depend a lot on WHAT you are drinking though.

Happy to find this thread! I rarely drink, but when I do, I always smoke like crazy. I've been off analogs for 43 days now, (yeah, a real noob, LOL) and I really don't want to screw up and have a smoke if I decide to have a drink or three. The throat hit seems the most likely issue for me, as I have always felt that my light cigs weren't as satisfying when I was drinking, my throat being slightly numbed from the alcohol. So I need to find the right strong flavor and up the nicotine somewhat. I've been vaping 2mg... (yes, *2* mg... go me!) so making it stronger is certainly easy... LOL

Now who has a flavor recommendation for vaping with screwdrivers? I bet a lot of flavors would clash terribly with the orange juice... eeek.
