So i got my new Riva 510 today in the mail, and these came with it. i did what it said, dropped 27 (a decent number in between 25-30) drops into the absorbant, and now im waiting for the battery to charge in order to try it out. question is, how will i know when im out of juice to vape? how will i know when to refill it? how long will these drops of liquid last? a few questions that need to be answered before i try this device in my opinion.

Generally a filled carto will last you 10-15 vapes on a normal pull I have never used the riva so I am not sure on your specific model someone else maybe able to contribute to that. You can normally look at the pollyfill and see that its not saturated if you have a burnt taste or smell it is way past time to refill. I normally just top off after about 10 vapes just to make sure that I don't damage my carto or get a tank mod and you can see when your running low.

After about 10-20 minutes of vaping, you'll notice the vapor starts getting weaker or, in worst case, will start tasting kind of burnt. That's when you top off the carto. Don't let it get so dry that it tastes burnt. Once you burn the filler inside, it will never taste right and you might as well toss it.

You should also use a drip tip on the end of the carto. That way, you don't have to pull that little plug every time you top off, and it will be more convenient to top off frequently. When topping off, tilt the carto so the juice runs down the side into the filler. Try not to drip any juice straight into the hole that runs down the center of the filler. That's your air tube and you don't want to get it full of juice. If you do, take the carto off and blow it out from the battery end.

Until you get used to it and you can judge by your vaping pace, just drip enough in the carto to where it looks slushy at the top. Usually about 6 to 10 drops or so is enough for about 15 minutes or so of average vaping.

EDIT. You have Mega Dual coils. They're going to burn juice faster than a regular carto. I'm surprised you can use them on a Riva. Isn't a Riva 3.4V? Dual coils are really best for 3.7V at the very least. They really don't "shine" until pretty close to 4 or even 5 volts. You might find that you get better results with a 2 or 2.5ohm single coil carto.

what about these then? will these last longer for like, on the go vaping?

OH NO. GOD NO. Those are cartridges. They're dinosaur technology. The carto you have will last quite a while. It holds a lot, the only thing is that they have 2 coils in them. Each coil is 3 ohms., which is standard resistance. For a 3.4V ecig, you really need a low resistance, like 2ohms, or even 1.7ohms. Let me look around on that site and maybe I can make a suggestion. If they have that same carto you have, except in a single coil 2ohm version, it would be great.

From what that site has, here's what will give you the maximum vaping time, and the best vapor with a 3.4V device.
LR Vision Riva / Ego Clearomizer ( Single ) [VJVECLR] - $5.45 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply
You can get the same thing, except in an improved model at discountvapers.com. They're called CE4+

Here are the standard low resistance cartomizers. They won't last as long as a mega, but they'll give you better vapor.
LR 510 Blank Cartomizers ( Pack of 5 ) (Soft Cap) [VJDA014] - $7.95 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply

I have no idea. There's very little description. Before you go carto shopping, a few lessons on filling your carto:
The best method for filling a carto is the condom method. Your carto should have a rubber cap on either end. We call those condoms (why? I have no idea).
1. Remove the condoms.
2. Next remove the plastic cap on the end of the carto. To do this, stick something in the hole in the center and pry it off. I use a large safety pin; other use a gem clip. You should see the white polyfill inside of the carto.
3. Take one of the condoms and fill it about 2/3 with juice.
4. Slowly insert the battery end of the carto into the condom. You want to go slow because the goal here is to fill the wick from the bottom up; jamming it down will force the liquid straight to the top, which really defeats the whole purpose.
5. Once all of the juice has been suck up out of the condom, examine the polyfill. If it doesn't look like a slushy, Then tip the carto to 45 degrees and drop juice into it until it looks wet.
6. Remove the condom and blow through both ends into a paper towel. This gets the juice out of the air hole.
7. Place a drip tip on the end of the carto. If you use a drip tip instead of replacing the plastic cap, it's much easier to top off the carto.
8. When you notice the flavor going away, or a drop in vapor, it's time to top off.

If you're worried about how long you can vape before refilling, consider getting some Smoketech 1.7ohm LR cartos. These hold almost 2ml of juice, which is about twice what the standard carto holds. You can get them cheaply at Crystal Clear Vaping. Another reason is that they should produce an outstanding vapor on your device.

What he's got is Mega Dual coils. They hold a lot, but they're dual coil. He's better off with a 1.7 to 2ohm XL or standard sized carto, even if it doesn't hold as much. The CE4+ clearomizers will give him maximum vaping time and if he gets the ones at discountvapers, they'll have the longer wicks an he won't have the wicking problems some people complain about with the "stardusts".

will this specific version work with my riva? if so im buying one asap.

If you're talkin about the ego Vision CE4+ then yes, it'll work with a Riva. Make sure you get it at gotvapes, or if you like the longer wicks, get it at discountvapers. There are a lot of bogus Vision products out there, including the CE4+

How to fill a carto..condom method.. I do this, it's quick, easy, you can vape immediately and a sure way to make sure your carto is saturated enough to not give a dry, burnt hit the first draw. Here is a link for boge cartos. On a Riva, the 2ohm would work nicely. The resurrectors are also a favorite. Good place to buy from, cheap prices with shipping costs added in.

Both of these cartos that I linked are the xl and should give a decent amount of time before needed filling again. If you use the condon method on them, fill the condom twice to get them filled. Also, both of the carto links will take you to the 15 carto deal..they can also be bought as single boxes. You can also get free drip tips with your order.

Here is a link to some good tutorial videos :)
