So I got my new order on monday (parts for my 18650 box mod) and in the order i had a nice surprise. The new 107 disposable (M401 style). I do have to say i am enjoying this e-cig so far (nice vapor and flavor), the only problem that i have is i have no way to charge it, and the batt just died on me :( If anyone knows of a way to charge this batt without me having to buy a charger that would be great. If not oh well, thanks for your time anyway.

Konservative, how did the disposable atty compare to the original Smoore 401 or to the knock off with the pointy bridge as far as tastiness of vapor goes? If you were to do a blind test, could you tell which was which?

Damn you, Hoog, as if I need any additional spurs to keep ordering from you. ;) Don't see it on your site yet. What's the ETA for its public introduction, a few days? A week?

Hoogie i hope that i did not force your hand in putting these up for sale before you were ready. I was just starting to get used to using it and the batt died on me so i was hoping i could find a way to charge it (all that i have to charge with are a kr808d-1 charger 2 510 disposable chargers, and 1 unknown that i got with a 510 disposable and is to small of threads to work with it). The vapor actually caught me by surprise, quite a bit for such a small unit, and the flavor was very impressive.

kemuri I have never had or tried a 401. I wish that i could help you, but i am not abel to. I guess that you will just have to try one for your self (there, now you have another reason to buy from hoogie, lol).

If you can get that unknown charger open, get one of the 401 atty connectors from MadVapes & change the connector, or change one of the 510 chargers.

I had thought that something like that would be my only option. I will not be making an order from madvapes for a little wile, and by the time that i do he will probably have the 401 chargers in so i will just have to wait for now.
Thank you all very much for your help.

A 510 battery connector is the same as a 401 atty connector. If you've got a bad 510 battery, you can use the connector out of it. Just a thought.

This thing would need a double female 510 connector setup to work with a 510 charger. I haven't figured if the batt or charger has the smarts yet.. I actually had an old Health-e-cig charger from Hg that it works with..

No kons.. I don't mind selling em but only have a few until my order comes in next July :( Probably sooner but seems like it'll be that long..

I meant take the connector out of the unknown charger he has & put a 510 female(battery) connector in its place.
Hoogie, please let me know if you are going to sell any of these now(107 disposables). I'm going to place another order when the 14500s get here & would love to try one of these! 401s are the best taste to me, just wish the carts would last like an 808 carto.

I was hoping to have chargers before letting them loose but if you've got a 401 charger then you'd be good to go.. I've only got 7 and I'll put them on tonight sometime..
You sure? The M401 chargers are just power supplies, the M401 batteries have the cut-off circuit, which is considerably lower that 4.2V.

I just got a free 107 disp. with my latest order (THANK YOU MARK!) :) It reminds me of the first ecig I ever had, which was a supposedly "disposable" that turned out to be a perfectly normal 403 (401, 402 and 403 are all the same thing, they're just different lengths.) As soon as the 107 battery dies I'll try it in my 401 charger and see how it works.

I'll have to devise a test adapter to see what volts these are producing. I have an old 401 from HG and these are nothing like it all. Wondering if they're pumping the batt up to 4.2v now. Mines still going strong though..

This one.

Last I checked my M401 batts came off the charger at about 3.1V, the M401 PT was running about 3.4V (both unloaded), and definitely hit harder. When my regular charger quit I made an adapter for the M401 charger to charge 14500's. Seemed like it was taking too long, I noticed the 14500 was warm, when I pulled it the voltage was at 4.45V. I made a similar adapter for the KR Universal USB charger and it worked like a champ with the 14500's. Cutting off just shy of 4.2V.

Unless my M401 charger went bad I can only assume it works like your 510 disposable ones.

The M401 doesn't have any charge regulation built in the battery. It's in the charger.

I bought a similar M401 disposable from another source a few months ago. I tried charging it with an e-Health charger (simple 5V power supply) and the it overcharged to ~4.3V before I had a chance to take it off the charger. I'm glad I took it off when I did though.

I've been charging it with an appropriate homemade circuit ever since and it's still working fine.

These are a nice alternative for someone who wants to try something different or have an e-cig a little more petite than a 510. I will be sticking with the 510 disposables though. ;)

Looks like the same charger. The spec on the back of my charger says output: 100ma, 4.2v.. Does yours say the same?

hoog
Yes. It's not the output that's in question it's the cut-off circuit. Where is it? In the charger, or more likely is it in the M401 batteries themselves. As I said unless my M401 charger went bad it does not appear to have the 'smarts' needed to know when to cut-off. The 14500 I almost cooked should have triggered the protection circuit, unfortunately it was an unprotected version I had originally bought in error (actually before I knew better).

It's similar to the way cell phones work. The 'charger' is not really a charger per se, it's just a dumb power supply. As long as it's plugged in it will continue to output. It simply feeds the phone's internal charger that has the proper circuitry to determine when to cut-off.
