This should maybe be posted in the RBA or coil building or dripper forum, but I can't yet. This is only my 5th post.

I just got a 3D Auto dripper and I just made my first micro coil. I know this dripper is so new that not many have had a chance to use it. I'm hoping that perhaps my queries will apply to regular drippers too.

I went by my regular B&M today during lunch (Nashville Vapors in Smyrna TN; shout out to those great folks) and talked extensively with their coil building guy. My first coil was made with 28 gauge Kanthal wire wrapped around a 4m screw (just a bit larger than 5/16th inch), then compressed with pliers and heated with a torch. I then attached to the posts, applied more power with the Provari and again compressed. I then used cotton wick and wrapped it around the juice chamber, careful not to cover the juice hole in the bottom. I'm sure I've missed a couple details here.

The taste is so much better than the clearomizers and cartomizers I've used so far, but I do have some questions.

The TH is lots harder than I'm used to. Is this normal when going to a dripper? If it is normal, do I need to back off on the Nicotine, or maybe I need a longer drip tip to give it a chance to cool down more or ...? I already have it set on the smallest air hole and I'm using a real jade tip to cool it. I'm vaping White Rabbit from AIV.

I'm not a cloud chaser, but the cloud production isn't even what I've been getting with the Itaste vv and a protank mini. I guess I expected more. Maybe I've not used enough cotton? As i said, I'm not a cloud chaser and the taste and TH is more important.

I did a 9 wrap single micro coil with cotton wicking, and got 1.6 ohms from that, and used cotton wicking. Could these symptoms be caused by not using enough cotton?

I'll post pix if I need (and if I can figure out how to do it). I'd appreciate any advice you folks can give me.

Thanks
