Thanks for the info guys.......One last question on the SLB's. Is there any significance for the little rubber washer/gromet inside the carto? Can't figure out what purpose it might serve being in there!
The Wiz!
Good to know....I use 510 tips on the cartos...So I guess I can just get rid of them! That little rubber grommet is primarily there so the juice does not easily get drawn back into your mouth as you are inhaling.
Your too kind sir!! Once again the problems I may be having could be due to ignorence or negligence on my part. This latest one I have been using is working remarkably well. I will continue to top it off as needed and see how long it lasts!I've only used a few so far but they've all performed well. I don't really like the condom method that much though because initially when doing it I overfilled a couple of them and found the performance to be quite lacking.
So that could be why some aren't working well. If they have less filler and you're putting the same amount of liquid in that could be the issue. I've noticed when overfill you get a lot less vapor, if it is REALLY REALLY overfilled you get almost none. In addition it can eventually burn if you try to use it too much in that state.
However, I was easily able to ressurect my overfilled ones by blowing on the threaded hole and collecting the juice that come out of the two holes which were lower on the threads. Apparently that threaded area can fill with liquid if using too much via the condom method and causes some serious operational issues.
Anyways, just a guess. Maybe it'll help though!
Nobody beats The Wiz in my book!

I'm still on the fence with these cartos. The first one worked great but died prematurely(most likely due to the fact I didnt keep it moist),the second two were duds from the start. The fourth one i am using now is working like a champ. I used the condum method at both ends for the initial fill and top it off when I detect loss for flavor.
I'm just wondering if anyone else had had hit or miss issues with these(SLB 510's)? I have noticed that the ones that work the best have more visible filler when you look into the carto. The bad ones show very little...and the opening looks larger around the filler(These would actually spout out the vapor...and tasted burned!)
If all of them fired up like the one I am using now I would be delighted!

Jimi........I guess I owe it to myself to try the Boge's and see if they perform any better. I would be quite happy with 4 or 5 days good use with the SLB's if they work like the one I am currently using does.So far so good!Wiz,
I have tried both the SLB and the Boge and for me the SLB win hands down. Now everyone seems to pick one or the other and always seems to have problems with which ever one they do not like.
As for the SLB's I have each carto last me on average 3 to 4 days and that is with me going through 4 to 5 ml of juice a day. I seem to have issues as well if I try the condom method, so I have found filling from the top works best for me. I get about 18 to 20 drops in the carto and then will spin it between my hands for 30 seconds and then be able to fit in another 8-10 drops.
I have also found again for me, if there is a larger hole down the center between the fillings I will more than likely get better life out of that carto. It seems that when the hole is smaller it seems to clog up and not allow an even airflow through the carto.
As stated, we all seem to find that one or the other works best. Hope it all works out for you.
I've had probs with the SLB cartos too. First few draws were great, then I apparently hit it too hard and burned the filler. I use just a Joye 510, and I do like to take a 5 to 7 sec puff every 20-30 secs. I pulled the carto apart, and saw a nice little black spot of the filling right next to the heat coil. It's not a matter of juice - I use a pretty low viscosity TV juice and always kept the carto full. The Boge cartos (with the silver threads) seem to hold up a little better for my vaping style. Overall though, I'm starting to think that I want to go back to the standard atty - as the juice consumption is much less. A burnt carto with a ml of juice in it just sucks.
They can be empty, no need to fill. But won't hurt if they are either.
On my meter I set it to the Ohms setting ( Has the Omega symbol) ...200 (lowest mine has)
Red probe to the bottom middle of the connector, black to the outside on the threads.
Good to know how to test also for testing atty's if they are having issues : D
A followup to my post. I tried another SLB carto - carefully filled it and made sure to only draw on it 2-3 secs and rest at least 30 sec in between. It was burnt nasty before the day was out! I even topped off to make sure it was saturated. This is just with a standard Joye battery. So, they are useless for me! I have a couple left, and I may take out both rubber plugs and cram the filler around the element to see if that help prevent burning, but I'm not too optimistic.
Jimi......It's a funny thing. I have heard others on this forum praise the Boges....Others the SLB's. The SLB I'm using now has been great for two days straight at 5v. I keep topping it off(whether it needs it or not),and have not had a burnt taste yet! All of the SLB's that have gone bad have had the filler material burnt or singed(I hated tearing them apart...but for science sake...). I really think the secret is keeping these moist!! I do plan on trying the Boges with my next carto order just to see for myself!I have not seen a plug in any of the SLB's I have received from LiteCigUSA. I have only seen the plugs on the Boges. I have gotten that burnt taste every time from the Boge and not once yet from the SLB's.

Al.......That plug(washer,grommet...whatever)is supposed to keep juice from spewing into the mouth(so I have heard).I just took the darn thing out and it works fine with a tip. I agree with you on letting these air out.Once you fill them they stay wet. After taking two apart they were both very saturated...just the two noticable burned spots on the filler, which I'm sure is resulting in the burnt taste!Jimi, the SLBs that I receive definitely have a plug. This is the item I purchased from LiteCig a couple of weeks ago https://www.litecigusa.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=510slbSoftcartosb
Here are pics of the SLBs
The BOGEs only have the white end cap.
There is no way I let these things dry out. When I opened the last burnt one, the filler was saturated fully to the point where I could wring out the juice!
