new 510....WTF!?!?!

Ok so i just got a 510 about 5 days ago and there is one very frustrating problem i have. Whenever i slap in a new cart, i'll get 5-10 good puffs and all of the sudden it will stop producing vapor, and all i get is a lung full of extremely hot bad tasting air... even though my cart has 9/10 of the liquid left in there!!! this is my third e-cig (i have a 901 and 801) and ive never had a problem like this. I stuff my own carts with the poly-fiber and it works fine on my other cigs, but not my 510. And even the carts that came with the 510 do the same thing. The only way i can use me 510 is if i drip, and i know that kills attys pretty quick. Plus it gets tiring filling up every 20-25 puffs... so any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

How would a single drip on an atomizer last 20-25 puffs? Maybe I don't understand dripping.

I gave up on the 510 and went with the Vapor King due to that sort of thing. I couldn't stand how putzy and inconsistent it was. I'm not going to fiddle around that much with an e-cig.

I've been using one atty for 2 and a half months, cleaned it twice with hot water spraying it in the atty with the little hose on a kitchen sink, I drip 3 drops at a time on the atty, I get about 15-20 hits (roughly, never really counted) from it and it still works great.... I wouldn't say dripping kills atty's as much as it kills auto batteries.

Sounds to me like you're using just a bit too much polyfill, and it's not wicking very well. Your atty is getting dry, and what you smell and taste is a dry atty and cart filler.

I suggest using a bit less polyfill, or take a look at the thread in the Cartridge mod forum titled Eheim Filterpad mod, or the Brass Screen Mod. Those should solve your problems.

For the record, I am currently using the Brass Screen Mod, and my 510 hits like a monster, and I can suck the cart completely dry before having to refill.

I had the same problem after a little less than a week. I used a plastic q-tip, and problem solved, and I love my 510 again.

I also gave up on my 510 and opted for the VaporKing from Vapor4Life. It is super easy with consistant throat hits and flavor. The only time I got that kind of flavor from my 510 was when I dripped on the atty (after blowing out the atty to clean it and topping off the cart) Steve keeps us all smilin with extra goodies he throws in each order, and the VaporKing is the bomb! Just screw the cart on the battery and vape! The VaporKing is what all ecigs should be! Love it!

Same thing happened to me for the first couple days. Started using PTBs, and now it churns out vapor nonstop.
